Hi,
I was wondering if anyone else will be at any events for Gay Days in Orlando.
As we are not renting a car, we won't be going to any of the concerts, car shows, and all the other events around town. We will be staying at OKW and going to the scheduled days for WDW, and meeting up with friends staying at Port Orleans.
I am looking forward to seeing all my friends at the Star Wars and F&G events, and it would be great to meet other DVC owners too.

When are Gay Days this year Gaston?

I think we were there during our Star Wars Weekend trip last year which was the first weekend in June. Same time frame this year?

I hope you have a blast and find some people to meet with :)

Yes, it is the first weekend in June. It's fun to run into people you haven't seen in years. I already know of a bunch from both Boston and California that we might bump into there.

Thanks, and I will write a trip report. This will be our first time staying at OKW, and also getting to see Expedition Everest.

I am sure we will love it, especially from all the great things I read about it on here from everyone. We have a friend who's family joined DVC as one of the first members, and I don't think they have stayed anywhere else since.
We own at VWL, and stayed at SSR on our trip, last year for Gay Days. One friend was so impressed by our vacation vids of SSR , he ran to Disneyland to the then new DVC kiosks, and joined up at SSR. His first trip ever to WDW , and he booked at OKW ,and loves it there.

We did that too, over the phone from California.
I have invited my Boston friends, that will be at Port Orleans, over for a breakfast in our one bedroom. They will get to see the DVC in person, and maybe they too will become members.

They will get our Guide and you will get a nice tidy little $200 credit towards your maintenence fees, or an add-on or gift to charity... According to my records, California residents are eligible for referral rewards (as we are here in Massachusetts and bout half the other states).

We were there for Gay Days a few years back, and it was fun fun fun, even for a straight married couple like us. I'd love to take the kids some year with some friends, but the whole school schedule gets in that way at that time for us.

I am a native of Salem MA, but now a Californian. We bought and got our friends the referral gift. Our buddy who ran to DLR to buy his SSR DVC forgot to mention us.
As for straight married, and unmarried couples at gay days, we always meet up with our straight friends at gay days both in Florida and California. It is so much fun to see how well our gay and straight friends find things they have in common, and then usually become best of friends.

My wife and I made plans for a three day weekend, and later learned that the weekend we picked is over Gay Days ( and F&G, and SWW). Sounds like a busy time of year.

The same thing happened to us last year. We were going for F&G and ran into some friends from Boston I hadn't seen in years. They were there for their honeymoon and Gay Days, and I felt like an idiot for not knowing about it.
So now with SSW also in the mix, (the other half made his own lightsaber from the original Graflex camera flash, as did the original prop makers) we are being total geeks.
