There is a chance that we might be able to leave earlier than expected on Friday for our trip. Our current tixs on SW are for a 1:30 flight but there are other flights that are earlier. Would we be able to switch flights and keep the same rate for the tickets...if space is available? What would the procedure be for that? Could I call SW and ask to change the flight or do we just show up in person?
We have a pretty small regional airport. 2 tickets were purchased with Ding fares and 2 were purchased at the counter (had to buy at the counter to redeem credits).
Any advice? Thanks!
I'd really prefer not to be sitting around my house with 2 very excited kids just waiting......:holymoly:

You can call and try. I have never had any luck getting an airline to wave the "change fee" even if it was for an earlier flight during the day.
If you were standing at the counter, I suspect you might have the best luck, but going early and NOT being able to get on a flight would stink.
Good luck! It would be great for you all to get there a few hours earlier :)

Because of Southwest's check in procedure, you would probably want to change the flights in advance, not just show up the day of the flight. You can check in online 24 hours in advance to get the coveted "A" boarding pass.
You wouldn't be able to change your flights and keep the DING rate. DING's are limited time special offers. Depending on what's available, you may or may not have to pay more for your other two tickets.
Southwest doesn't charge a "change fee" to my knowledge, but you have to pay the going cost for the ticket when you make the change. I've only had to do this once, and luckily the new ticket was only about $10 more.

Thanks for the advice! Worked out that we'll have to take the original flight anyway. But I appreciate the advice, I'll store it in the back of my head incase the situation ever comes up again. :)
