I understand the concept of banking and borrowing.
If you have say 10pts left over every year for a few years are you allowed to keep banking them?
so on a 150pt contract you could have 200 points in 5 years(assuming using 140 each year)

From the mouseowners main site section on banking/borrowing:
"Vacation points can only be banked once; they cannot be “carried over” from year to year to year. Thus, if a member has not completed travel on banked vacation points by the end of the UY into which they‘ve been banked, those points will expire."
If you'd like to read the entire section on this subject here is a link:

Hope this helps! :howudoin:

Technically true, but mousehouse can still reach the same goal quite easily...
2006: Use 140 current; bank 10
2007: Use 10 banked + 130 current; bank 20
2008: Use 20 banked + 120 current; bank 30
2009: Use 30 banked + 110 current; bank 40
2010: Use 40 banked + 100 current; bank 50
In 2011 you are then left with 50 banked points and 150 current for a total of 200 available.
Just make sure DVC is using your banked points first each time you make a reservation, and don't forget to bank each year.

yes, I see how that works now. Thanks!
Also, sounds odd when they say when you bank your points you can't use them for that year again..you have to borrow if you need the points and had made an error.!

One of the nice things they do each time is go over your remaining points with you after you make a reservaton, so you can double check to make sure they have used your banked or borrowed points correctly. If they don't do it automatically, then you should ALWAYS ask.
I have not had a problem with having to ASK Member Services to used banked/borrowed points first. They seem to do it automatically but it is certainly your responsibility to make sure before hanging up when you make a reservation.
One nice feature that is still relatively new is that you can now check your balances online once you are a DVC Member. You will receive a password to the member side of the DVC section of Disney.com where you can receive updated on current offers, check your points and look at your loan balances if you are paying through Disney. They are making improvements to the site often lately and I hope it continues.
