For those of us who enjoy chasing the latest rental car rates... National's last minute savers rates for Emerald Club members bring their late May rates in line with Alamo rates---and you get to skip the counter.

For a convertible 9 day MCO-MCO rental, I came within $5 of Alamo's counter rate. At 10:30ish at night, I'll spring the 5 bucks to be able to walk straight to the car!

For my trip (starting tonight!) National would still be $100 more than Alamo.

Thanks! I just saved $20 for our 3 day rental next week!
While signed in with Emerald CLub, I reserved a mid-size car but I don't see anywhere if we can use Emerald Aisle??? I thought in the past when I made the ressies it had some kind of statement that we should proceed directly to Emerald Aisle. Does that mean we have to go to the counter?
Nevermind! Just read the print out confirmation and answered my own question LOL It has Level of Service: Emerald Aisle  Can you tell how badly I need this mini-vacation????

Yep, I got a rate for a G6 with National for a few dolars more than Alamo's Equinox. I also have a National Equinox reserved ($35 mor ethan Alamo), and hubby said he would rather drive that and pay $35.00 more. I never could get Alamo to let me add an extra driver without an extra daily charge. So we re gonna stick with the Equinox and pay a little more. Sitting up higher lets you see where all your traffic bottlenecks are.
We also like passing up that counter and walking straight to the garage to pick out our car.

Wow! Thanks Blue and Gold. I was going to have to pay 134.00 and this brought it down to 89.00. Quite a savings!

Glad to help...
Even if the rate is a little higher, we've been happy with the Emerald program, and the more we travel, the more conditioned we are to just heading out to the car!
