Wednesday, May 3:
Pam and I awoke early...today was our Segway tour! We were really looking forward to it, tho I think Pam might have been just a teeny bit worried. We enjoyed coffee and bagels on our QUIET balcony and then zipped over to Guest Relations where we signed away our lives/fortunes/first born to ride on the Segway. Our tour guide was really peppy and funny and he told us it was EASY. We headed to Innovations where we got fitted for helmuts and watched a quick movie. THen we were given our very own key and our very own Segway. I done broke mine when starting it (I had my foot resting on the footboard), so they had to roll out another one. Then we practiced rolling forward, backward, stopping and turning on a dime. (Liked those 360s!) .
First...if you do this, make sure you sign up for the longer tour; we saw some people who were just circling out in a little park area...they were on the hour long experience, and NONONO....did not look like fun at all. So, back to our group. We practiced indoors for about 10 minutes, up/down a ramp and then we were off, single file to ....the OUTSIDE. No one jumped in our way, which kinda surprised me. We loopd through the statue garden and then headed over to the then closed world showcase. We went through each country...and in short order we all felt like experts! We stopped for a photo shoot and while the CMs took pics we roamed free within the not-too-confining-cones. I have some video on photobucket, but I don't know how to link it here, so here is a photo:

There was a whole lot of freedom riding around...the CMs were there to make us feel safe, but they really wanted us to have fun most of all. I enjoyed it tremendously. My legs kinda hurt tho, so I had to balance on one while I bent, stretched, lifted the other. But the Segway really isnt' about balance like a bike....it is so much easier! THe idea of leaning back to stop was an alien concept to the skier in me...but when I thought of it as if it were a horse and I was pulling back hard on the reins yelling WHoa!, then it hit home. One rather timid lady ran into a wall and then kinda stepped off her Segway, but got right back on...none the worse for wear.
It was a great experience and I'd do it again in a skinny minute!!!
We were HONGRY after our exciting adventure, so we headed over to the Land and snarfed up a huge lunch. I had the ahi-salad and gingercarrot soup. YUM!
We wanted to save room for Le Cellier that night, so we did Soarin to work up an appetite. We also looked for hidden mickeys over at mission space and made some silly videos that were an awful lot of fun. And, we ran into Goofy, hiding behing the moon:

We went back to the room to change clothes and then walked over to the American Pavillion to see the Grassroots. The lead singer has kinda lost his voice, but he was funny in a drunken stupor kind of way. The lead guitarist still had his voice, tho they ran out of tunes in less than a half hour. Then we ran over to Off Kilter (wishing we had a Segway handy) to see a show (finally) with Mar. SHe is a NUT over these guys. They do put on a merry show and were a perfect prelude to dinner at Le Cellier. This was my first time, and after hearing all the raves, I was looking forward to it! It did not disappoint. In fact, we've already made ressies for our next trip!!! Pam and I finally had an opportunity to sit down with Mar and chat...and THEN we walked along the Boardwalk over to Jellyrolls. Mar had never been there before and she really wanted to go. I was there in December and loved the piano players and songs, hated the smoke...so I was leery. Mar graciously paid for us when the doorman said NO to credit cards or room charges...only cash. JEEZ (but thanks Mar...we owe ya)
The guys were ON that night and we had an awesome time. The highlight was, of course, Froggie's song (the Rainbows and lollipops one, not the its not easy being green one). We were all fairly tired, but no one wanted to leave. I think we stayed until midnight. On the way down the long corridor to our room Pam and I got to giggling, then laughing out loud. We knew we were being rude, but once we got started , neither of us could stop. And yes, tis true, I laughed so hard I peed my pants....oh the shame!:crymeariv .
The heroines fell asleep after their long day fighting the good fight. Tomorrow was our last full day...and we wanted an early start on it! Little did we know what danger lurked in the Living Seas!:hypnotict
