We have been on the waitlist for the BWV for quite a long time and nothing has come thru for our dates. Whenever I have called MS to check on it I am told that the BWV is totally sold out. Just for the heck of it out of curiousity I called Central reservations and they had what I needed available in all views all my dates. Is this the declared/undeclared inventory thing? I just dont get it and am a little frustrated that I can not stay at my home resort because its sold out. TIA

Yes, this could be the undeclared inventory thing. It could also be teh rooms from members trading out to II or DCL or something like that. As it gest closer, I have heard of getting some of those rooms back . Not something to count on, but it has happened.

We have been put up to the 7 day waiting list. MS has basically laughed at me when they look at my dates. "Day AFTER Thanksgiving! Good luck!" chuckle, chuckle...

I dont understand about the rooms from members trading out to II or DCL?

I guess Im miffy that they (CR) will take reservations... cash...but my points they (MS) will not. They didnt have a problem taking my cash when I bought DVC. Ugggghhh! Im confused!:veryconfu

If you were to trade out to any other collection other than DVC, DVC gives those rooms to CRO. The $ that CRO gets goes to paying for whatever you exchanged. FOr example, when I trade out for my Alaska Cruise, CRO will rent out an SSR room whose size/number of days equals the amount of points I traded. The cash that CRO receives for renting out my rooms is then given to Holland America to pay for my cruise. After MS gives the room to CRO, they usually can't get it back.

Does that explain it better?

One thing that may help keep it straight for you:.. CRO is a seperate entity, not associated with DVD's MS, but they have "guarenteed ressies". (yeah.. it is a stacked deck)

CRO "owns" those points and is attempting to rent them out. Not terriibly unlike if you had confirmed ressies, and wanted to rent it.. Other members couldn't argue that just because you are not using them, that you should lose those points, and make the time available to them. Nor could they voice concern that you chose to ask twice or three times the going rate for points.. they are your points to do with as you choose..

hope that helps..

Believe it or not, I would call once you land in Orlando... call MS and have them call BWV's directly and see what they can do... you never know, if they have the space, they could give it to you...

BTW how long have you been on the waiting list??

Hmmmm...I never thought of calling MS when we arrived. Isn't there a charge to change or some kind of penalty on short notice? This is all new to me.

Not sure of exactly how long but least for a few months on the waiting list.

No penalty. Just a good way to check if there is last minute availability.
