Hi Everyone,
Have never made a trip report before, so I am sure this won't be very interesting reading

Highlight of the trip:
DO NOT POUR ONE-THIRD BOTTLE OF MR. BUBBLES IN A JACUZZI.
:hahahaha: :hahahaha:
We got to BW before 11AM on Sunday. For some reason we were locked into a room that was not ready. The CM taking care of us kept trying to tell me that I had locked in when I made the reservation. I didn't, but there was no changing her mind.
She kept saying it was a nice room, and worth the wait.
So we got back in the truck and parked in the self serve lot. I changed into tennis shoes and we took off for the parks. The biggest advantage to having Annual passes.
We walked over to EPCOT to catch OK!! The room was supposed to be ready at 4PM. So about 3:30, we headed back to the resort. The room was ready. I took off for room 4055 and Ron headed down to Valet park the car and have Bell Service take the bags up.
I must admit the room was worth the wait. Wonderful view (kitty corner to the bike rental stand). The room had a twin size day bed. Never had a room there with that. Or hey, since I celebrated my 49th birthday down there, maybe I just don't remember.
We unpacked and headed over to Magic Kingdom, with ME hours, it was opened until 3:00AM. We were ready for the challenge. Then as the night went on, we decided it would be stupid to wear ourselves out the first night. So we hung around for Wishes at 10PM and at 11PM the Electric Light Parade and then headed back to the room.
The next day was our 13th anniversary. We ate at the German buffet for that. No gifts were exchanged as the BIG parasailing adventure was our anniversary gift.
It was hot. Like in the lower 90s every day. At night 70s.
I was doing great in the sun.
On my birthday, we started out at EPCOT, got my birthday button and spent the morning there. In the afternoon, we headed over to Magic Kingdom to get my button there.
I think we have been down there for the last three years for my birthday. I wear the pins and other than a Happy Birthday from cast members and guests, I never got anything more than the nice feeling of people noticing the pin. Which is really pretty cool.
Every year, the last day we are there, Ron wears the pin and he always gets something. One year he was serenaded by the Dapper Dans, one time he got free ice cream, he has been sung to by the room full of people on Carrousel of Progress with us. It is a standing joke between the two of us.
I can say that no longer. This year, we got in line for Splash Mountain. The line was over 90 minutes long (it was about 2PM). I did not care, I wanted to get wet and cool off. We got to the end of the line and the cast member called us over and wished me a happy birthday. She dropped the rope and told us to enter the ride from the back side. So we started walking against the traffic coming off the ride, we kept going until we found ourselves standing on the wrong side of the loading area. They stopped loading and let us on. And then when we got off, the CM in the picture area called us back to her and gave us a free pass to any ride we wanted.
Then we went to our favorite restaurant for dinner Big River Inn. They brought us a huge piece of Chocolate Confusion after dinner.
So after all that, I cannot complain any more. I certainly got my share of brithday magic this year.
Next day was Thursday, our BIG parasailing day.
The weather had been picture perfect up until that morning. I woke up and walked out onto the balcony and called back into the room to ask Ron if they wash the boardwalk down at night as it was all wet. Took a closer look and realized it was raining.
By the time we were ready to head out, the sun was shining and all was good. We jumped on the bus to take us to the MK and from there, we walked to the Contemporary.
Carl, the doorman at the Contemporary was so nice to us. He told us that he was signed up to do it at Hawaii and it was canceled as the girl that went up right before him, when they brought her down, she crashed into the beach and got hurt. So his was postponed until the next day. Then when it was time for him to go up, his wife would not let him go.
I told Carl, you are not helping me with these stories.
He asked us to stop afterwards and tell him how it was.
We got all checked in, signed the releases, paid our money and she told us to be back in 25 minutes. We decided to just sit on the bench and watch the person that was currently up in the air. Ron was pointing out to me how slow the person was moving and look, they weren't too high and then they started to reel him down. So we were watching how that worked.
Someone, can't remember who, told me when they did it somewhere, they did a touch and go. So they would bring you down, let your feet run through the water and then take you back up. Ron kept assuring me that would not do that. Sure enough, this guy came down and it looked like he was done and then before you knew it, he was back up in the air again.
I told Ron, see, they do touch and go's.
Turns out it was so windy, they could not get the person back in the boat. They got him near the boat and then the wind caught the chute and up he went again.
While he was still up there, they called us over to the counter and postponed our trip.
I was a little bummed, but as Ron said, that should make me feel it is a safe operation.
I thought better that guy instead of me. As if it had happened to me, I would have had a heart attack.
They rescheduled us for 2 that afternoon.
We called at 1PM and it was still too windy, so we rescheduled for 9:30 on Friday.
We got there Friday morning and it was still too windy. So they refunded our money and we will try again in Sept.
From there we decided to eat at Chef Mickey's. We had never been there, but decided we might go back once a year.
From there we went back to the resort. Dumped off the waterproof camera.
Stopped at the bar at the pool and had a Rollercoaster Meltdown and then walked the five minutes to EPCOT. We spent the rest of the evening there.
In that five minute walk, I GOT SO SUNBURN. I was not sunburn before that and I was as soon as we got to the park, so it had to be from the five minute walk.
I put some aloe on Friday night and Saturday and the burning is gone.
Good thing we did not decide to spend an extra day down there as I told Ron, I would not had been able to go out in the sun unless I put a long sleeve shirt on. I was so sore and SO VERY RED.
Had wonderful driving. No major backups or accidents. Did have rain on the way down. We never saw a drop of rain while we were down there.
We saw the Buckinghams and Gary Pucket, The flowers were beautiful. We had our quota of Dole Whips and even tried the Citrus thingie (oj and vanilla ice cream) from the place outside of Tiki Birds. Had the Rollercoaster Meltdown and Chef Mickeys. So a lot of firsts for us this time.
And oh yeah, I won't give you the details of the Mr Bubbles story.
:bitemylip :scary: :goodnevil
It was a pleasant surprise to see the inferno barge back. I had not heard that had been repaired.
We did meet a lot of people that had retired down to Disney, which is what we are planning on doing. So as soon as Ron knew they retired there, he was full of questions.
Think that is about it.
Any questions, ask away.
Next trip is in 122 days:rockband:
