I was wondering where everyone is from, We live in Utah which is a little leangthy flight for MCO, is people making longer flights and if so how often? I trying to decide if WDW is worht it we go to Disneyland in CA allot, but have not been to WDW, so I am not sure about buying a DVC if the flight is too long etc? I guess is what I am looking for is WDW worth the extra travel time? :tearsaref :idontgeti :headscrat

DisneyWorld is definitely worth trying at least once. Then you'll be able to decide better if DVC is for you.

With 47 square miles, WDW can offer a more overall vacation experience. I love Disneyland Resort, but DLR and WDW are very different from each other. There's much more to do at WDW--it has four theme parks and two water parks. Downtown Disney is larger. There are a number of water experiences, like renting mouse boats to paragliding. And WDW has the Richard Petty Driving Experience, where regular folk like you and me can learn how to drive a racecar.

I live in Pennsylvania, and DH and I go to Disneyland Resort at least once a year (I even got to visit Walt's apartment back in December 2005). But DLR and WDW are like apples and oranges--different but both tasty in their own way.

But I wouldn't recommend buying into DVC to use the points at DLR. It's not really a good use of points. A room that costs 8 points a night at a DVC resort will cost you 19 points (or more) at Disneyland Hotel.

I live about 20 minutes from Disneyland and I still make it to WDW about 2 to 3 times a year.
A non stop flight from Utah to MCO should probably only be about 3 hours which isn't too bad at all.
If I lived in Utah, I would probably alternate between DL and WDW for my vacations.

I ditto Leftcoaster - doesn't Delta have a nonstop from SLC to MCO?

I fly 9 hours to get to WDW and average 4-6 trips/year. Of course, that's because I am a little  and dont' have to worry about taking family along most of the time.

DL and WDW are very differnt. After about 20 trips to DL I went to WDW and had a really hard time adjusting. Many WDW fans will tell you that DL is 'too small' but I missed some of the little touches at DL. Also DL seems more intimate, and I was used to seeing the same CMs over and over during the years. I also like things like the Swing Dances and Casey Jr that WDW doesn't have.

Of course, I've learned to love WDW over the years. It is a totally different vacation than DL, but each is a good experience.

I'm from California and Disneyland is a days drive or a short flight away and I would rather go to Disney World. There is just so much more there. Don't get me wrong I also love Disneyland and will continue to go there even though I own at SSR. I think you should go to Disney World at least once and then you can judge for yourself wether or not you think it's worth the extra travel time.

We love both of them! They're both wonderful!!!!!!! :lovestruc

Can't really respond to the too far part. We fly 5 hr flights for a weekend, and 11-15 hr. flights for a week's vacation. (With a 2 yr old.) Seems like only the first time would the flight be "long." After that it would be "regular." :upsidedow

Nikki is right on though...it's a personal taste thing. Make sure you like it before you buy!

I have been to both and I will always go back to WDW. There is so much more to do at WDW. Definitly go you will not regret it.

I love DL, but WDW is defintely *the* place to go if I had to choose only one forever.

Luckily, I don't, and I intend to return to DL and visit Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Paris someday! But WDW will be the one where I'm a "regular."
