Considering a small add-on to our BWV contract (or even taking up the current SSR incentive for the 130 & APs) as a birthday/Mother's Day present for DW... Think of it as a diamond I get to enjoy! Anyone out there know if I'll be able to do so without DW signing the paperwork? We are co-owners on the existing initial contract and add-on. Not sure if FL real estate laws will allow me to purchase "property" with right of survivorship without my spouse's invovement.

Unfortunately, we can't speak to our Guide (never have, in fact) because DVD isn't registered to offer real estate in Nebraska... We have a trip coming up in mid-May, going to have to come up with a ruse to sneak over to the preview center at SSR!

I have wondered this myself. Anybody done this before?

Possibly not (unless your probating in FL) however, there's nothing stopping you from buying the add-on in your name to start with - then have your guide send you whatever paperwork is required to add her name once she 'unwraps' the purchase documents.

Get card , print up a nice letter of your intentions to buy the add on as her present. Then buy when you get there.

Maybe you can make a game out of it. Create a picture puzzle so when she puts it together, she sees / reads what the "real" gift is going to be.

What a nice gift!
From 9 years of resale experience I can tell you Disney administrators are sticklers about the signatures being on the documents. They will allow someone else to "pay" for a contract, but the new owners must sign the paperwork.

It will cost you to record a new deed if you buy it in just your name so I would encourage you to consider the "card" route and have her sign the documents.

Let us know how it goes!
