Some people have stated that they have heard rumors, about DVC in Disneyland, Where have these rumors come from and what are they? :doublejum :tapedshut :grouphug:
Well, mine isn't so much a rumor but a look at what Disney Vacation Development is doing. Last June, suddenly DVC kiosks sprung up in Disneyland. Hmmmmm.....:scratchch

Personally, I always viewed the sales kiosks at DL as a natural evolution. Clearly many guests at DL are Disney theme park fans, albeit living 2000 miles away from the nearest DVC resort. Perhaps DVC ownership is enough financial incentive to get them out to Florida for a week each year.
I know Disney has some undeveloped land out at DL or they could always convert a block of cash rooms from the existing resorts to DVC. But most of the rumors I've heard seem to fall under the heading of "wishful thinking" more than anything else.
Just in terms of frequency, DL rumors seem to take third place behind future WDW resorts and other off-site alternatives.
Well I had a little hint from my guide about a year ago. I was calling in regards to adding on at VB and asked him about DVC at CR. At that time he said that they weren't going there for a while but did we notice all the kiosks at DL...etc. It was a year ago so not exactly sure of his wording but he was clearly indicating (if not outright saying) to me that DL was next DVC. I'm sure things have have changed many times in this past year so it might be off the list altogether but it might be a possibility. :idontgeti
I really have no interest in DL for our family but appericate the additions of well designed/planned DVCs.

No news from my friends "in the know" about a California DVC lately, but I do have some DL rumors and sightings.
The subs in the lagoon are moving in and out of the show building. The water is being drained and refilled for this,as the subs need to be floated out of areas Disney needs to work in. The Living Seas in EPCOT is getting the same technology as the Sub lagoon in California. In spite of predicting rumor mongers, the Matterhorn did not sink or topple over when the sub lagoon was drained.
People have seen the new upgrades in the Haunted mansion, and like the new attic stuff, including the new technically advanced bride. Her husbands' faces are supposed to be added to the seance room in place of the musical instruments from what I hear. No news of the whereabous the rumored Hitchhiking ghosts addition.
In Pirates, the Depp character is going to be in 3 places, One in the fish barrel, the second as one of the auctioned wenches, with the third being a full size AA at the end of the attraction at the bottom of the lift hill. The pirates chasing the woman will be restored to it's pre politically correct version, with the woman being chased, instead of her chasing them. Pirates is currently closed for these upgrades, but will be open in time for the movie premier.
In DCA rumors of the Golden Gate Bridge coming down, and rethemed, and the sundial hub coming down in favor of a 1920's to 1930's era train station. Midway Mania attraction to be built in back of California Screaming, and the San Francisco and Route 66 areas to be enhanced. The DCA lagoon, Belagio style, water fountain spectacular is still being rumored. As told, these rumors suggest that new technologies out distance "Fantasmic" These are rumors, but I did hear from a friend that the wave machine has been turned back on in the DCA lagoon.
The Monsters Inc ride is alot of fun, and I hear Tower may get a new drop profile.
Hyperion Theatre is rumored to be getting an indoor lobby and rest rooms, and the walkway between Tower and Bug's Land is on hold for now. Condor Flats/Soaring Over California area is getting less or more of the desert/flight testing/Space Program theme, to better transition to the Grizzly Peak wooded area depending on who you want to believe.
A buddy knows a guy involved in the design/building of the various fountains in Downtown Disney here. He was once given an early design assignment for the water park Disney was to build here. It was cancelled, and no word of why, or if it is still is being considered.
Paradise Pier Hotel was finishing up it's redecorating when I last stayed there on DVC points in Feb.The rooftop pool looked good. The Grand Californian had recovered from the Christmas Tree fire that blackend the lobby this winter.
Lastly, nothing is being seen in the Disney Travel storefront window in Downtown Disney that would suggest it is actually a Disney Cruise Line office for the rumored west coast cruises. The third and fourth ships are designed and to be built once the steel market recovers from the price increases of steel due to China's demand for the material. The European Cruise, and last summer's west coast cruise, along with the rumored Hawaii Vacation test last fall all point to wild speculation.
Take all this with a grain of salt, as I have, and watch your sodium levels.

not sure about a DL - but if the Hawaii one is true - well that is a good reason to be in Cal.

The Hawaii rumor popped up on a DVC thread on a California based Disney website the other day.
