Good morning. I was wondering if you book a flight with SWA and they come out with a lower fare (DING!), will they refund the difference, give you a credit or not allow you to get it at a lower price? Thank you

Southwest does not charge anything to change your ticket, but they won't give you a refund. What they do is give you a credit that you can use on future air travel that's good for one year. I look at it is a little savings account for my next disney trip!

Actually if you can you can get a refund if you call. I did this once. Now I just keep the credit in my SW account, since it appears I'll be flying with them frequently.
When SW started in Philly they were not the most economical. I could get much better rates with United/US Airways. Now SW is a better deal.

Thank you both, just the answer I was looking for. I am meeting family there in Sept and am going solo. We usually drive, but it will be cheaper for me to fly than drive alone (with these yucky gas prices).

SW moving to Philly, helped me decide to buy my DVC. Love there Ding flares.

Rebooking to take advantage of a Ding fare can be tricky. You would either have to cancel the original flight and then have the credit sitting there to apply to the Ding fare. If there aren't many seats available, it wouldn't be inconceivable to lose your seat.
I have heard of some people booking the Ding fare and then calling SW to see if they will apply the credit from the first ticket to the Ding fare. Some have had success
If worse came to worse you could book the Ding fare, cancel the original and then hold on to that credit for the future. If you will fly SW again in the next year, that isn't a bad alternative. You are out the cash now, but you have a nice credit for later on. If the Ding fare is that much less, it would be worth it to me.
