You'll love it! -- At Minnies you can get this close to hundreds of Butterflys!

It's basically an enclosure where guests can walk thur, and plantings that are food sources to butterflies have been placed, and butterflies released into the enclosure (as seen below)

In my mind the F & G Festival is one of THE most beautiful times of year to be in the world! -- one word of caution however -- look out for this guy -- he's always barking at people!

Flower and Garden (Along with Christmas) is one of my favourite times at Epcot. Last year we really enjoyed Minnie's Butterfly Garden. There was a very cute little boy who was a bit of a butterfly magnet - apparently his clothing was very attractive to butterflies as he had some 'souvenirs' attaching themselves to his clothes.
There was also a display by honey producers; they gave out free honey samples. My photos are not as great as DVCconvert, but here are a few which came out ok and are a great memory of last years FG festival.

My friend Bonnie and I went the first day; we also enjoyed Pluto's Maze but were a little disappointed that the interactive part wasn't working yet. I also enjoy the garden next to Germany - watch for the hidden Mickey's!!!! And one year there was a 'singing grate' - when you walked on it, it made difference chimes so that you could create music.
OK, now I am DEFINITELY pining to go to FG this year!!! :jumpingbe

I loved the butterfly pavillion! My photos were much like yours Bavaria...yes, I took several of the orchids at the Mexico pavillion too!
But where is Pluto's maze? I LOVELOVELOVE mazes (England, France and Hawaii, but missed the chance to do one in Costa Rica).
Happy Easter! Happy Spring!

CB, it's a little kiddy maze and the last few years it's been bwn Imagination and Canada. Very small, not really a maze but a play area. We wanted to open all of the doors, lids, etc to hear the sounds (ok, we were big kids!!)
I can't wait to do the Alice maze at DLRP though - hopefully soon!

la la la la la la la I CAN'T HEAR YOU! I have the last dental appt this week to repair the damage from those evil Smorbukk....
Now, back to FG festival.... last year the garden bwn Germany and Outpost was very relaxing, with wooden recliners and a stream. Tehre were some hidden Mickey's in the stream and I enjoyed sitting with my book adn showing kids the Mickeys. Oddly enough, nobody else seem interested in just sitting - I find that too when the garden is bwn Morocco and France. The reason why I enjoy FG is that there are so many more places to relax and enjoy the scenary, so I do recommend trying to slow down a little and taking in the sounds of the FG festival.

Thanks Mar! The panda is wonderful! Where was the Lady and the Tramp topiary? I am going to have to find that one for sure! :)
Question too- chip126 is going to be in the World on April 20th-27th (I think). Will all the character topiarys be out then?

Sure the topiaries will be out by the first day of F&G which is 4/21 so Chip should certainly be able to see them.
Lady and Tramp were in different places different years. At one time (3 years ago I think) they were right in the front of World Showcase entrance. They had a plate of spaghetti and a strand ran from lady's mouth to Tramps. Last year they were in the area on the rose path between future world and world showcase. (no spaghetti that time, darn!). There was a maze for kids, and Lady and Tramp were in the front of it.
BTW Deb Wills has some great shots from last year's F&G, including butterfly garden photos, here: http://allearsnet.com/tp/ep/fg05/fg05.htm

Can someone tell me (more specifically) where Minnie's Butterfly Garden is?

It is just outside of the rear of Mousegear, between Mousegear and Test Track. If you exit Mousegear's back door you will see it, it's pretty hard to miss. When you enter Epcot pick up a Brochure for the Flower and Garden stuff, that way you will be sure to find it (and all the other F&G info). There is a map in the brochure.:sunny:
