I am doomed for either a picture the size of a football field, or one where you need a magnify glass.
how in the heck do you edit these things? I went to the edit part of the site, and tried to edit them and they are either too large, too small......:headache:

I had the same problem when I started using PhotoBucket. I just couldn't get the size right. I finally started taking pictures in 640x480 mode on my camera. This works well, and I don't have to resize the photo. I think most digital cameras allow you to take pictures in this lower size and resolution. They are not good for printing, but are just fine for posting on the web.

Ok, this may sound labor-intensive, but I take my photos and load them into a program like Microsoft Picture It publishing. Once I'm in there, I pull a photo, name it and save it. Then, I resize it real quick to a 3X4 or so and save it again as a smaller sized jpeg. I even title it as 3X4 or whatever somewhere in its name, so that if I'm rifling through my files, I know this is the "smaller" web-friendly version so I don't have to click on properties even. (I have a whole file of nuthin' but 3X4, LOL!) Then, next time I'm photo-bucketing, I upload any new pics I have. The 3X4 size usually works well.
I did something similar to get my avatar and also the pic at the end of my thread - I sized them to the required # of pixels and saved them as Jpegs, put them in photobucket, and voila... there they are. (I think the little pic at my siggie is about 340X340 pixels square... the avatar is 100X100 pixels)
There are other programs that will do the same thing - I think most camera software has some sort of software (like Ulead, adobe, etc) and most of these will let you resize it and save it fairly simply.
HTH!
I do something similar to Gopherit...
I use Microsoft Picture Manager and resize my pics to "document" size and then upload into Photobucket. Picture Manager came with my version of Office 2003.
Here's a general description of where it fits in the whole "picture management" software arena.

I had no problem with photobucket when JiggerJ first taught me to use it; now my pictures are either teeny weeny or huge, and I too cannot find out how to resize them.....

Me too- I dont know what happened! When I posted the pic of CBs beautiful little godson, the pic was HUGE no matter if I tried to resize in photobucket. Although the photo I had was from an email.
I scan my photos using the scanner on my printer, but during the transition to .jpg I am able to reduce them then transfer them to photobucket.
DSNY FN- could you repost the link to the site you are using? I couldnt get it to work no matter what I tried to do? TIA!

www.putfile.com is the site I use it is great you resize the image before posting it and no need to fart around with it after. Only thing when you post to a BB it posts as a thumbnail but in the link just delete the -thumb and it will be the size you saved it as.

I have a Kodak Easyshare and its edit function will allow you to pick "size best for the web!" I was having the same problems and this was my fix :highfive:

Finally figured it out! if you click on 'edit' it goes to another page and allows you to resize the photo. I think that this option used to be on the same page as your photo, which is why I got more than a little confsued!
