If you know exactly when you want to visit, your best bet is to book a resort available now (so that you can start making other travel arrangements) and go on the waiting list for other resorts. There's no guarantee that you'll get what you want, but the sooner you get on the waiting list the better your chances.

There really aren't any other tips or tricks involved. There's either a room available or there isn't. Continuing to call, randomly hoping to get a room, probably has the lowest chance for success. There may already be people ahead of you on the Waitlist for your dates. If a cancellation should leave a room open, it will go to someone on the waitlist before it is simply shown as available in the reservation system.

October is a popular time at BCV and BWV due to the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. Studio rooms also tend to be the first size unit to fill-up at any given resort.

If you don't own points at BCV or BWV, booking either resort during the Food and Wine fest can be difficult. You really need to call as close to 7 mos as possible or take your chances with the Waitlist.

Get on the waitlist as soon as possible. For times that book up fast I usually call in the witlist day by day. Good luck.

I really don,t want to stay at ssr. thanks LynngI'm hoping that this comment refers just to this trip. While it is a heavily debated topic, the fact is that it is less probable to get any resort booked at 7 months than it is at the 11 month window. For many times of the year, it won't be a problem booking at the 7 month window. But for other times, such as the Food & Wine Festival for BWV and BCV, it can be a gamble.

As others have indicated, go ahead and wait list and you have a good chance of getting what you want. Good luck to you! :)

I agree, hope that reference means only to this trip. I would hate to think that I had bought SSR with the intent of never staying there. However, I really like SSR, so I don't understand why a lot of folks seem to feel that way.

It sounds to me like maybe the OP is concerned that they cannot make a reservation before their use year starts? Maybe I'm misreading it, but I couldn't figure out why else you would mention your use year.

You can make the reservation at any time, even before the UY starts as long as you will have the points in that year. So if you wanted Oct of this year, you could have reserved at SSR last November, or tried the other resorts in March even though you don't get your points until April. Since you'd get the points before the actual trip, you can do it. The UY is only when the points go into your account, it shouldn't affect when you make the reservation.

If you were waiting until April, I can see how you'd have a really hard time getting something else during the F/W festival. Again, if I misread that, I'm sorry, but if that's right, I didn't want you to miss out on things in the future.
