Saratoga: I love the room decor. The view of dtd fireworks from certain rooms in the congress park building is spectacular. The easy access to dtd is great. The highrocks spring pool is wonderful. I like convenient parking so parking in front of my villa is great. It is an all around beautiful and serene resort. I hqaven't been to the spa yet but I love the fact that we have one.
Beach club villas: I love the colors, it's such a pretty resort. Amazing pool.
Capemay cafe is really good imho, Great location, Beaches and cream (yum).
OKW: The wonderful folliage. Beautiful colors, spacious rooms. It feels like family. Great parking situation. It is a beautiful floridian resort. I haven't eaten at olivias or used the pool yet.
I haven't been to BWV yet but I have a feeling my kids are going to love it because of how much they have going on, I think I'll love all of the food options.
I haven't been to VWL but I like the proximity to Mk and I would love to visit it at christmas. The themeing looks amazing.

Hilton Head.... I love the trees... the best trees ever. Just walking around the resort it is so peaceful. Breath deep....
BWV.... Nothing beats this resort for Christmas in my book. The theming and I just click. It is my cup of tea. The Carasoul horses are lovely. BellVue room is fantastic. Love the fozen drinks by the pool. Love room service, love valet, love driving up to the front and seeing BOARDWALK across the front.... LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!
OKW.... Our first home. Who ever said it isnt themed has never been to Key West!! (Just took my first trip to Key West and OKW is dead on!) Love the parking in front of your villa.

We love visiting at least the lobby of all the DVC resorts each trip, but we usually stay at OKW for the large homey rooms, quiet colors, foliage, water views, community feel. We like to see VWL too, but don't stay there because it is too much like home.

TWI, there's an idea! I definitely think OKW needs rocking chairs on the porches!

BWV: everyone in our family loves Community Hall
BCV: The reason we own there is SAB
VWL: I love the western theme music that's played in the main lobby and on the walkway between the lodge and the villas.

Honestly, if you haven't been to HHI, its almost worth the trip. Even the studios have huge balconies with a pair of rockers and a small table. There is nothing better than enjoying that first cup of the day, rocking away and staring out over Broad Creek. It is something I miss when staying in a studio anywhere else.

I don't have a favorite because I haven't stayed at a DVC resort yet :crymeariv
Hopefully I can tell you all the things I love about SSR in December when I get back and HHI in April of next year.

OKW: For DH, gotta be the parking, LOL! He luvs havin' that car (and no valet) For me, it's the space, the kitchen (yes, I actually cook on vacation! :) ), and that bathroom in the 1 or 2 br villas. I also love the steel drum music and tropcial feel. Just makes me relax! OKW was our first WDW DVC experience and like any first love, it's with us in our memories for life!
VWL: Ok, the lodge, the twinkling lights around the pool/walkways at night, the lodge, the restaurants (love WCC), the lodge, the pools and the way they face the bay lake and that awesome lodge, the incredible theming, 2 queen beds in the 2nd br, the music playing in the walkways and also in the main lobby of the lodge, the way it feels 10 degrees cooler there in the summer and 10 degrees warmer in the winter, the fireplaces and creeks in that lodge, the wildlife (like ducks, otters and bunnies), and oh - did I mention the lodge? ;)
BWV: It's where we own, so it will always have a piece of us in that regard! THe pool layout is great for parents (easy to keep your eyes on your kids, even as you order a drink at the bar, LOL!) Easy access to many restaurants, and to the boat service to MGM or walking to MGM or EPCOT.
BCV: My kids will jump right in here - SAB. I will chime in with B&C and Cape may, and the GREAT access to our fave park, EPCOT. DH and I both love the theming - we're more BCV than BWV in our style (has more of a laid back feel to us than BWV, but perhaps that's just us and a subtle diff in the color pallette of the decor, lol!) Love the oval tables in the 1 and 2 br rooms, and ability to book dedicated "2 queen beds in 2nd br" villa. Love that crisp white-wood-and-oak decor (and want to get my hands on some of those 3D "sand art" pictures hanging over near Cape MAy - too cool!)
SSR: LOVE the community hall; CMs are just super great with the kids here! Love the view to DTD at night with the twinkling lights and LOVE the view from the Quiet Pool at night! Great proximity to DTD and, once again, DH will tell ya - love havin' that car nearby, LOL! VERY VERY comfy sleeper sofas - best in WDW in our book! Hope they put those in ALL the villas!
HHI: The bike trails - you just GOTTA do the bikes. Riding over ot the beach in the late afternoon - how awesome! Great restaurants. CMs are super helpful and seemingly everywhere, doing every job, LOL! Those HUGE back porches with the sunset views - I agree with TW1, rockers are great! Kids absolutely loved the shuffle board court - theywant me to build one in our backyard! And it has been almost 3 months since our week there, and the kids are STILL singing those campfire songs, haha! Honest! So many special touches - like signs of Shadow here and there, cookies and lemonade in lobby, smores and the campfires, pool games and magic shows, just watching the crabs out by the pier... wonderful family time! We also liked how easy it was to chat it up with other DVCers - you see each other fairly often at HHI due to the smaller size of the resort, and it makes striking up a conversation easier (both for adults as well as the kids!) Good restaurants all over the place, too!
We haven't been to Vero... but it's definitely on our list of things to do!! We love all the DVC resorts and wouldn't hesitate to stay at any of them... but I have to admit, I think my fave is VWL (do ya think it shows?) and DH probably would agree (even if he DOES have to park far away, LOL!) THe kids haven't decided... but the pool at BCV sure is tough to top in their minds! The whole family agreed that HHI was awesome as well - or as my son said it, "Mom, can we just make it so that, when we're not in Disney world, we're here at Hilton Head?" (Don't I wish!!)

BWV-Proximity to Epcot and MGM, the lobby, Jellyrolls
VWL-This is our fave so far. The theming, WCC and EWP are all reasons we love it.
SSR-I loved sipping martinis in the Turf Club watching Monday Night Football.
HHI-A wonderful place to relax and unwind. DS loved crabbing off the pier and eating his spoils.

You mean, with all those retirees, OKW doesn't have rocking chairs? :ROTFL: ;)
Cool thread mammaprincess! I think i'm about half a steop further than cobbler, as I've been to BWI. Still no DVC stays. And cobbler will have her first trip welll before me. :Pokepoke: ouch. ;)
it has been almost 3 months since our week there, and the kids are STILL singing those campfire songs

So far I have only stayed at the VWL as a DVC member.
What I love about VWL let me count the ways...
1. Iron Spike Room! I wandered around...all alone...very early one morning and I mean EARLY 4:30 am. I was able to enjoy all the carvings and really take the time to read and study/enjoy all the pics of Walt with the trains.
2. Hidden Springs Pool- Crowded city at the main pool but just us and one other family there. The bubbles were neat!
3. The decor of the Villas. I really liked it! :)
4. Sitting out on the balcony enjoying the sun rising and at night when darkness fell. It was just so peaceful. Looking thru the trees, hearing the boat taking excited guests over to MK or maybe taking them to Ft. Wilderness.
5. The walkway between the Main Lodge and the Villas. What could be so special about a walkway? You are still a special part of Wilderness Lodge and you as a DVC owner have a special walkway that leads you to your villa. Flickering lights, outdoor and sounds of nature. The rocking chairs, even some that are "pint" size just perfect for my little guy and me to "just sit"
6. The very cool Mickey Topiary! :) Had to put that in! :) :) :)
There so many, many great and wonderful things that VWL have to offer and I cant wait for another trip to find out more-
Oh geez....I am sure to be a basketcase when I go to the Boardwalk for the first time! :)

BWV - getting out of the pool at 4:00, changing, walking into Epcot and having no problem making 5:00 dinner reservations. Then walking back. Bellvue room. View options - its nice to have the low points standard view options, its also nice to guarentee the BW View. Flying Fish and the Boardwalk Bakery.
VWL - theming, decor. Having an acceptable location for counter service (I don't love Roaring Forks, but its bunches better than a few sandwich options and Spoodles Pizza window).

WL is our all-time favorite resort, probably because it's the one that's the least like home. We really feel like we're in another place when we're there, especially when it's cold outside. Can't wait to go in Dec when the Xmas decorations are up. Love the Iron Spike room window seat!
OKW: Oh my! The rooms are huge! The 1BR is bigger than my first college apartment.
We haven't stayed in any others as DVC members, but I like Artists Palette at SSR and Beaches and Cream and SAB at BCV. It's really nice to be able to walk right into EPCOT from BCV and BWV. I've had a clown thing since I was a kid, so I'm a little nervous about staying anywhere near the Evil Clown pool :holymoly:

OKW we love the cheap points for the stay and the new slide at the main pool.
VWL love the exterior of the place and the lobby that is about it there.
BCV the pool SAB nothing else there excites us.
BWV love the location the atmosphere and the always on the go feeling of the place love the pool and the dining options located in the area.
SSR love the location to DTD and the pool is great and we love the layout of the grand villa and just the general atmosphere of the resort can't wait till it is fully complete. I hope they incorporate the tree houses into the resort.

LOL, and that is exactly why we don't stay there! Way too much like home, and I want my Florida vacation to feel like Florida. I do love that WL lobby though, and we always have a meal at Artist Point.

OKW for the conch fritters and huge one bedroom villas.
WLV for the way the main lodge is decorated at Xmas. (haven't stayed in the Villas)
BWV...well, silly, that's my home!!!!! Only stayed there once, last May. Loved the location and different view options. Liked the BWV studio better than the OKW studio (felt more like an apt cause of the 2 Q beds in the OKW unit)
Probably won't stay anywhere else cause I like the lower points at BWV and OKW....but I stayed at the BC before I bought into DVC and the SAB was fun!

I have only stayed at OKW, my home resort! Eventually, we will venture out and we do have HHI for Mar 06 as a start :)
I love OKW for its beachy colors and feeling. After a wild day in the parks, we can go to our resort and really relax (and spread out :beaniepro ) I like the boat ride to DD and having my car right by my villa
While I haven't stayed there, we did drive over to BWV on July 4, walk into Epcot through the Int'l Gateway and watch Illuminations...sweet :kickingco We really enjoyed the ease of walking right in!
In 1985, we camped in FW and enjoyed a boat ride to MK. I bet that would be a great part of staying at VWL :goodvibes
My kids are dying to stay at BCV for SAB, of course

We love the BCV , first of all we own there and second we love the SAB and third the restuarants all in walking distance and finally because when we stay at the BCV it feels like home to us, i cant explain it.
when we stay at a different resort we always find ourselves wondering back to the BCV just to visit and figure out how to sneak into the SAB, LOL
