Well, I've always wanted to go on a solo trip, but never had the guts. I've decided to do it. I am thinking early March. Low crowds, decent temps. Studio @ SSR, for 4 nights. Any solo travellers got any hints for me? It 4 night's too many alone? I think it should be fine.

I've only once made a one-day visit to a park alone. And is was a ton of fun (after I got over the guilt of course.) I was travelling to LA on business and couldn't resist a day in DL CA.

Still went somewhat commando style, making sure I hit all the rides I liked, but it was so very relaxing.

I'm sure you'll have a great time completely calling the shots by yourself. (But don't let Tim know, he'll give you all sorts of assignments :Pokepoke: )

I've got my 1st mini solo in May, just for 3 days before DH drives down. I am looking forward to spending some good quality pool time in afternoons, after park opening and commando in morning. Evenings are for shopping at DTD, as DH is not the best shopper/browsing partner. I'll let you know how I felt! I am kinda nervous, but mostly excited! :)

Like TW1, my first solo trip was after a business trip to LA. It's a totally different experience. While I love going with friends, going solo has a lot of benefits. You don't have to plan aroudn anyone else, and if you change your mind midway through your day and do something totally different, you don't need to consider anyone else in your plans.

As you are not new to WDW, maybe try some things that you would not have done in past. You may find some new favourites!

Oh, and yes, homework is a great thing to do while solo! (I've actually done homework assignments when with friends too, and they enjoyed it, but solo homework means seeing new things and meeting new people)

In the past I have met up with a few people for meals off 'another' board; I don't do that much but I did meet some good people and clicked especially well with one person....

Oh I think it would be wonderful!!! Dont get me wrong I just love my kiddies but to just go at your own pace, where you want to go, when you want to go would be great. To be able to slow down and REALLY read all the signs in the windows on Main street, Sit in epcot for a few hours, take a book to the pool and maybe even nod off for a few... sounds gooooddddd!

oh my gosh girlfriend I just talked myself into a solo trip with ya!! LOL!!!

Really if you want to go- GO!! I think you will have a fantastic time- :)

Lol, girlfriend!!!!
It just sounds so relaxing. I can do what I want and not worry about anyone elses needs (sounds selfish I know, but I need a break)
Certainly lay by the pool, hang out at Epcot. Especially after dark, my favorite time to be at Epcot. And I won't make any ADR's. I want to eat just CS, whatever I want!
And I've always wanted to do the Wild by Design tour @ AK and no one would ever do it with me, so I'm going alone!!!:dancingba

I've stayed all different lengths of time solo, from 1 night up to 6 (I've taken 7 solo trips so far-#8 in September). But I can say that I think studio accomodations are perfect for solos. As Samantha Brown says on Travel Channel, "it's like you got your own little homestead". I've never been in March yet, but I would think it would be a great time, weather-wise.

Yup, Simbas Mom, I think March will be fine. I was just there this past March and the crowds were very low, and the weather was pretty decent. A studio will be fine. And I think 4 nights will be perfect for me. Gonna hit the spa, too. Sorry, random thought that just came to mind.

I LOVE solo trips! Just want to say that while beginning to mid march is fine, beware later in the month. Spring break begins by the third week of March and the place will be packed. It's listed as one of the highest attendance times on allears.

Thanks Mar! I am planning on going the same week I went this past March, the 1st week, the attendance was great!

I've stayed solo on business many times and really enjoyed it. Several restaurants will let you eat at their bar which I prefer if I'm alone. Go for it.

Yes, please tell us all about it. Where did you eat? And how long until you have another solo trip. They're kind of like Lay's potato chips-you can't have just one!

I sure did go! I went solo in March (let's see if I can remember that far back:D )
I loved going solo, relaxing, taking my time, not waiting for anyone else....I have NO patience!:D
I spent a ton of time @ Epcot:ale: Saw Off Kilter 7x!
I ate only CS no TS at all....Well, I guess the place in Japan (Matsu no ma) is actually considered TS....Great views of WS:cheerlead I remember I had asalad and a shrimp entree, which I wasn't crazy about, I had wished I had gotten sushi instead.
The only place I felt uncomfortable alone was Raglan Road and I was surprised by that...I figured everyone there would be too busy too notice:beer: I got a lot of weird looks, a bunch of rude guys were trying to kick me out of my own table because they wanted it.:burningma
I was MGM for just a few hours during ESPN weekend, and was actually on tv:D they wanted a bunch of Red Sox fans in Sox t-shirts grouped together and screaming.
I am addicted to solo trips now, I think...LOL...I would love to do one again soon, but I dont have the points or the cash right now:thumbsway as I am not going back until 10/08 and that will take all my points.
Sorry for the long post, but it was fun to think back!

Aww, thanks!

Yes, I already have the itch to do another one...It will have to wait, but it is tough:boohoohoo I want to make sure I do 1 solo trip per year...I was so tempted to take another solo trip this year when we got that e-mail for SSR or OKW for $164 a night!!! But I have already been twice so far in '07 and have the big MO gathering in Dec.:cheerlead

I'm glad to hear you had a wonderful time! I love solo trips and have sort of missed not having one in awhile. When my DBF decided to skip going this year I think he expected me to be more upset. ;) I definitely wouldn't always want to go solo, but it sure is nice to go at your own pace and see exactly what you want to see without worrying about anyone else. If I decide to browse in a shop for an hour, so be it. If I want to ride Splash Mountain 10 times in a row...well then I'll be really wet but yay me! I've done a couple of tours during solo trips and find them really enjoyable as well. I'm thinking about doing another one this October but the F&W keeps me pretty well occupied. I don't think I'd want to do the segway tour after hitting those booths!:ale:

I did 8 days solo last September, 10 days in May of this year and will be doing 9 days this September. None of them were long enough. I love doing exactly what I want to do, when I want to do it. I'm looking forwarding to a family trip with my adult children and young grandchildren next May, but there's a lot to be said for alone time. I've met up with other Dis fans, and that was lots of fun as well.
