I finally did it! I am the proud owner of 150 Beach Club points purchased through Disney. After much consideration and about a week and a half on the waiting list, the points came through. My guide was the best - she actually called me on her day off (Saturday) to give me the news.

I appreciate the advice I've gotten here and am excited to finally join you!

Ginger - they resell the points they get through ROFR, so they do sometimes get points for "sold out" resorts. They are pricier than the resale market, but 1. no ROFR to worry about and 2. I THINK you can get the easy Disney financing.

Yeah, I was very surprised. There were several ahead of me on the waiting list, but apparently they needed a certain use year and I did not. It was lucky timing.
