Who besides me is waiting for tickets to go on sale?
I want to snag four tickets for Halloween night, and get ressies at Liberty Tree Tavern beforehand (maybe somewhere in the 5:30-6:00 timeframe).
And weather permitting, we want to do the Haunted Hayride on the 30th. We missed it last year because we went to WDW too early in October, and missed it the year before because they didn't have it (hurricane damage).

How did the 5 pm reservation go? Were you seated late? Did you have to head off to Tomorrowland after you were done eating?
Last year I didn't know that there was an exception to the 90 day rule, and that once you had your MNSSHP tickets you could make ressies at LTT. When I called to get a ressie, the best they could give me was something like 6:40. And even though we showed up a bit early we just sat and waited, and waited, and waited. And it was only October 7th.

We went last year. But are going to skip it this year. We are not Halloween people (didn't dress up, no kids, don't need 5 gallons of candy). We enjoyed MVMCP better. Not that MNNSHP was bad. I would go again, just not a must do every year.
When we went to MVMCP we ate at LTT at 6 (I think), so we missed the whole Tomorrowland round-up.
HTH. Have a great time!

I called way outside of the 90 day window for the 5pm LTT. It was great, very fun with everyone dressed up. We went the night of the 29th. I thought the crowds would be horrible, but it was a breeze. Crowds, but of course, they were at the candy stations. (I say this b/c everyone said the closer to halloweeen the worst, the only time we had gone before was Halloween night the first year they did it, 1998 or sometime?? and there was hardly anyone there...) How were the crowds when you went???
Anyway, the 5pm time was just awesome---- While the rest of everyone was eating somewhere, we were done and walking on to rides. We ate, took our time, and then when we left, met up with another couple from the hospital that had come down, and went to get our bands at one of the stations that was set up. They had us corraled in Frontierland/Adventurland. We goofed around, rode some rides (walk on) and then they opened up the park. Crowds! Later on, everything was walk on. We got great seats for the fireworks (the best they offer yearround IMHO!) and watched the parade and left. I really feel the 5pm LTT was the key to the evening to be honest. I would try to call right at 180 day window (?). sidenote: I had to call 3x to get a CM that knew that we could reserve LTT outside 90 days:rolleyes:
Have a great time ghost! Boo to you!!:blueflowe

MousePlanet thinks the dates for the MNSSHP will be released next week. I'm looking at the first week in Oct. Thanks for the LTT tip. This will be my first ever "fall" trip to WDW. I'm taking the girls out of school, but DH is a high school football coach, so we are leaving him at home.:boohoohoo My girls have their costumes ready but my mother and I are still deciding. From others advice I think we will chill that day at the resort and not go to the park until we eat at the LTT so the girls will be rested for the big night. Agree? We'll have my two nieces also. Ages 9, 6, 4 and 4. Are we crazy or should we bring Poppy for back-up??

What is Poppy?
I think you are smart to take it easy before the party with younger children. I really liked the Halloween party better than the Christmas one and my two stayed up until midnight having the time of their lives. The later it gets, the less people there and it is a GREAT time to go and see Mickey and Minnie (there was NO one there so Mickey played with my children for a bit - I thought they would come out of their skin!!!) The boys were almost 3 and 5, but I couldn't believe they made it the whole way. My sister's little girl (3) pooped out by 9 and that was a terrible waste of money for them imo.
I am debating making that trip again this year. I really liked the party :)

oh my - I feel so silly!!! lol Thanks for explaining that to me. :dunce: I am going to chock it up to lack of sleep with a 6 month old!
I think your decision about more adults depends on how much the older one will be willing to do with the younger ones and what your plans are for when the 9 year old wants to ride something a bit "older". If you can handle 3 alone, or the 6 year old is a daredevil and willing to go with teh 9 year old and another adult at times, then you are good to go!
If Poppy is in good health and self-sufficient, then I bet he would enjoy the trip to see the kids having so much fun. If he would be extra work (not intentionally mind you, but if he has special needs of his own), then maybe some other time when it is just your children might be easier on you.
I do hope you have fun either way!

Poppy is in great health. He likes to sit on benches and watch people. He didn't ride too much on last WDW trip. He thought he would sit this one out and let it be a girls only trip. I noticed you are staying at the OKW soon. I was thinking about renting points for OKW for this Oct. trip. I'm new to this and no one I know has ever done this before so it would be a big leap of faith for me. The resort looks great. We have stayed at the All-Star Music twice and our last trip at the Dolphin spoiled me because of the location. Distance from the parks is the only thing that concerns me about the OKW. We were not planning on renting a car, so we would be relying on Disney transportation.

I am glad he is in such good health :) That is fantastic!
This is our 2nd time staying at OKW (and we have a trip in between where we stayed at SSR) and we have yet to experience a problem with the transportation!
I will make sure to do a full report when we return to let you know if things are still good.
I can understand your concerns about renting. We rented points for this trip for our friends to add to mine for the Grand Villa and it WAS a leap of faith...or at least sort of one. We talked many times, even on the phone and also had several emails back and forth and decided NOT to do a contract (which I wouldn't recommend - there are good contracts out there!) because we were doing a member to member transfer. I sent him 1/2 the money and he was supposed to do 1/2 the points when he received it, but he decided to be trusting and just did them all and when I discovered this, I immediately sent the rest of the funds. It went really well.
There is a lot of information on mouseowners.com about renting points, but please feel free to ask questions here if you need info still!

We're going. DH and I went last year and had a blast. We dressed up as Alice and the Mad Hatter. We decided to take another quick getaway trip this coming October. There is no way our girls could stay up that late. I can't wait to take them in a couple more years.

Where are the dates? I don't see them on the WDW MNSSHP page.
Can we buy tickets yet?

Never mind, I found it. And this year they're charging extra for Halloween night. Or maybe they're just not giving the advanced purchase discount.
And I just called and they're not selling tickets yet.

Even though the tickets are not yet on sale, I called for an ADR for LTT on 10/17, and got a 4:50pm time. This was the latest they were able to book without already having a MNSSHP ticket. Sounds perfect anyway.

I bought tickets yesterday by calling 800.828.0228. After we completed the purchase for tickets, the CM asked if I wanted to make dinner reservations. I told him that was going to be my next call (still outside the 180 mark for Halloween night), so he got me a reservation at LTT for 5:30.
