From another board....
Supposedly, DVC is offering the "new" (old) promo of 2 free APs for add-ons of 120 points or more at SSR.
The specifics: You get $8 off ppt, 2005 pts, plus the APs.
This is the same deal they were offering about a year ago, if I remember correctly (though you didn't get the previous year's pts).
Anyway, something to think about....

My add-on-itis was stopped cold by the tuition hike at the boy's school this year. :headache:
However, I hope this info will help someone.
Thanks Kim!

Is that $8 off before the new price increase, or after it?

It's effective now, so I presume before.

F&F was a better deal.

We just received a new AP newsletter for Disneyland Annual Passholders. It seems that Disneyland APs receive a 15% discount on a DVC membership if purchased between February 19th and April 30th, 2006. The article specifically mentions SSR. It doesn't say if it's applicable to sold-out add-ons, or if it has to be purchased on-site at Disneyland.

F&F was a better deal.
It's pretty much a wash for 120 points.
With F&F, you'd save $804.
With new/old promo, the value of the APs is $884. (Bonus: you can upgrade them to PAPs for next to nothing).
I guess it's all in what you value. We held onto our AP vouchers for almost a year and a half (and then made them PAPs); we think it was worth it for that particular add-on. Different strokes...

I just talked to my guide. She said that it is at 130 points that you get the two APs. All other point packages get 1-day passes. She also mentioned the HHI and VB incentives and said that they do have some of the "sold-out" resorts available at $92/point.

I think I missed something...what are the HHI and VB incentives? I've been seriously thinking about an add-on at one of those resorts for a year now. Just curious what incentives your guide was referring to? THANKS :).

Sorry Amy, I didn't write down the exact offer on HHI and VB. I do remember her saying that an add-on at one of those resorts is between $85-$90.
Sorry, I wasn't paying much attention when she said this.:headbange

I just signed my contract a week or two ago, and haven't closed yet, and I'm ready to add on. I wish I had only signed up for 150 points instead of 200 on the original contract.

You know, you bring up an interesting point! I always thought it was better to buy the points you need right off... but I can now certainly see the advantage to buying a bit now... and leaving room for more (and a few APs) later!
Wish we could capitalize on some of these offers. Would LOVE about 100 HHI pts - it would be SO nice to get that summer window locked-in, maybe bank-borrow in such a way to get a week every other year.... or 5 days around Thanksgiving... but orthodontists, school tuition, house payments, and probably a new van (ours has well over 100K on it) loom in the immediate future... and then there's that whole college tution thing to fret about (just 7 yrs from the first one of three to look forward to!)
Some beach.....some where....
