OK, I was over at SSR last night for 2 hours touring and signing papers. :doublejum I am now a proud owner at Saratoga Springs.

But you guys didn't tell me I would have so much reading to do....they gave me this packet chocked full of stuff - real estate papers, new member guide, etc. I'll be reading on my lunch break until the cows come home. :hahahaha:

I have pretty great credit, so of course they wanted me to buy more than the minimum I have to buy. Ghost1000 is sure I will get add-on-itis, however....:Pirate:

Congratulations, and Welcome Home!

I thought out tour and purchase would take 90 minutes, tops. 3 Hours later, we finally got our ice cream and a ride back to the resort. I was so excited I stayed up almost all night readying EVERYTHING. Boy, those were weird dreams!

I'm curious, since your location is Orlando, have you stayed on property often before? I'm curious about the locals who buy into DVC. I'm not sure I'd find it easy to go back home . . . :)

Thanks guys! Ghost1000 called me before I got online tonight and said everyone was excited for me!

I'm curious, since your location is Orlando, have you stayed on property often before? I'm curious about the locals who buy into DVC. I'm not sure I'd find it easy to go back home . . .

I moved here in July 2004 from Philly, and had stayed on property 4 times prior to moving here. My dad has a timeshare in Kissimmee, and my grandparents used to live in Tampa, so I have been here many times off property. My apt is going condo, so I need to find a new place to live by 11/1. I had a horrible time trying to buy a house last year (8 bids on 8 homes in 5 months, go the last one which appraised at 10k less than asking so no go). I have been thinking of moving back to Philly. If I DO stay, it is nice to know that I can use the DVC for when my mom wants to visit me. My long time companion, Midora (my cat) died last year and I want to get another (maybe 2), but my mom is alergic. She comes next week and will stay with me, since Midora is gone. It is nice to know that I have a back up, if I need it. And my sister and I were talking about going to the UK next summer, so........now I have the means to do it! :woohoodan

Welcome Home, doombuggy!!!!

I know all about those sleepless nights when you try to figure out what it means to have DVC points and how to use them! It really consumed my every thought for awhile:rockband:

doombuggy, what about your dad? Did he purchase at the same time, or is he still thinking about it? Or has he decided against it?

I think he really wants to, but he already has 2 others, so he would need to get rid of one of them first. He would like to keep their Hilton Grand vacations T/S that they have near Sea World (very nice, except the MA BR has a roman tub IN the room). That T/S is RCI; the other one they have, which is a Celebrity Resort in Kissimmee (192 & Poincianna Blvd) is in II and that is the one he wants to get rid of. That one is weeks (as opposed to points, like DVC and HGV). My DSis doesn't want him to get rid of that one, however. I think my dad needs to take some time to work on the brat and his DW to get them to sell that one. DW is a Scorpio, DSis is Gemini and Dad is sagitarius, so his chances are slim :ROTFL:

I have told him that if I don't move back to PA, maybe he and DW can come down for F&W in November and stay at SSR. That might get her more motivated, and DSis will be off to UofCO.
