Anyone have any experience with ATA? We're taking them to Savannah on Thursday and I've never heard anything about them. I kind of get the feeling that it's similar to Southwest? Thanks!

Isn't ATA a small commuter carrier affiliated with one of the larger airlines? I would swear they provide some type of service at or local airport through a larger carrier like Delta or Northwest. If that's try, I'm sure I've flown them in the past, and don't recall anything memorably bad about the experience.

Thanks for the response! I got very worried....I hate commuter flights, hate propeller planes so I went an looked at the ressies b/c I knew I wouldn't have booked that if I knew. :headscrat Sure enough, I'm an idiot! I booked AirTran.
Sooooo...any experience with AirTran? LOL
I've flown Airtran a couple times. They are the only direct flights to Florida for us. I have been happy with the flights and service. The biggest difference between SW and Airtran is that Airtran has seat assignments. If you purchased a flight without seat assignments you can go on line 24 hours in advance to make them. I forgot this last time but found out at checkin that they pre-assign larger parties. I was greatly relieved! I was imagining having my dd's sitting next to stranges! They also offer business class upgrades at checkin for $35-70??. The planes are 717's with 2 + 3 seating. So far no problems.
The only major negative is that they are known to frequently change the flight schedules and not notify you until closer to your trip. I find this annoying and can be a problem if you selected that flight for the schedule. Just check your flight times now and then.

I have flown AirTran several times and have no complaints. Some of the employess actually smiled at me. No kidding. I know that sounds petty, but I have gotten the worst service lately from Delta. I guess if my job was up in the air I wouldn't be Ms. Sunshine either.
Have a great flight and trip!:goodvibes
