...to your husband. You may have to deliver someday.
A few years ago I bought a new sewing/embroidery machine that creates Disney embroidery patterns (it's a Brother machine and they have a contract with Disney). To help expedite the process, I told my husband that I would make him a pair of Monsters Inc. pajamas.
Well, I have to live up to my promise. His winter pajamas are starting to shred and he needs at least one new pair. Luckily I already bought the fabric back when I bought the machine. So yesterday I started his Monsters Inc. pajamas. He picked the embroidery design for the pocket. I cut out the pieces yesterday, and embroidered the pocket today.
I'm not the fastest seamstress in the world, and it's been a while since I made any clothing (I'm actually a quilter), but I'll get them done eventually. At least he's a happy camper for now.

I've always thought those machines were so cool. Are they easy to use?
I'm a quilter too, and I always tell my family, I can sew anything FLAT! That is the key. Once it has to actually fit some person who is so not flat, it's no longer my thing.
Hope they turn out really cute!

That is a skill that I never learned and really would like to. It would come in sooooo handy! I think I's stick with the flat stuff as well, though! I'd love to see what those PJ's turn out like!

I have a brother embroidery machine too. Mine has Pooh stuff on it. Did your Monsters Inc. stuff come on your machine or did you have to buy a card or download it? Sounds like cute stuff. I've used my machine too, but probably not to it's full potential. I really needed a couple of classes on how to use. My DH bought it for me a couple of Christmas's ago off the internet, so there is no one to show me how to really use it to it's full potential.

That is very cool Ghost! I hope you will share a picture of them when they are complete!
I am with you Jnrrt. Anything that becomes dimensional at ALL is probably NOT going to turn out well. Curtains...no problem. Quilts....I do well. Clothes - I dont even try/ :scary:

At least pajamas are not really form fitting, so it's not a problem there. I don't even make any adjustments for height. And with the elastic waistband I don't have to worry about a fit there there.
ErinC, I had to buy a card for Monsters Inc. I've also got Toy Story 2, Disney Princesses, Mickey's Holiday, and The Incredibles.
I also used the Monsters Inc. card to make a baby quilt about a year and a half ago. And I've got Monsters Inc. pillows in the living room.
jnrrt, the machine is relatively easy to use. Sometimes youhave a problem if the fabric is stretched too tight, but so far I haven't run into any problems that made the embroidery unusable.

OK, officially jealous! I would LOVE one of those machines and asked for one for years while kids were younger... now, I'd have to get one that also does NBA/NFL... does Disney make an "ESPN" cartridge, LOL?
ONe great idea that a lady I work with does - she buys girls' sweatshirts, cuts them open down the front, sews grosgrain ribbon on the "cut" part and puts in button holes, and puts Disney embroidery on the upper left chest area and sometimes on the back - these are really really NICE looking cardigans! And she didn't really havce to sew very much - just the button placket and and designs. She also takes sweatshirts and lops off the upper part (across and including the sleeves) and then sew a hem. Turns it upside down and it's a matching skirt. Very cute girls' outfits, I tell ya.
My kingdom for a machine that could do that.... *sigh*.....

Quilt him a pair of PJs?
I cook, but I don't sew. The machine sounds ultra-cool, but it would be lost on me.

The top is finished. I actually lined the pocket with Monsters Inc. fabric that I purchased to make a shorty summer pair of PJs.

The picture is the pajama top that I promised to make for my husband several years ago. I made the promise when I bought my new sewing/embroidery machine that does Disney designs.
