I got a Chevy Equinox for 6 days from National for a grand total of $137.92. Base rate was $129.36, after coupon and taxes it came to $137.92, and the coupon is a printable one on National's site.
The Dollar rental for an intermediate came up to over $150 for me with the taxes and fees.

Thanks Rash...
That did the trick EXCEPT
I was trying to fool it into accepting Disney area pick up instead of MCO. It didn't like that.
I'm driving from Tampa, didn't want to get the car there as I'm coming over with locals....but that is a good deal, so I might have to rethink this.
Now National is talking....last year $115 total for a G6 for the week. That's what I need!!!!! (but of course for me a compact is fine too)

Great National rate!
Isn't it kinda aggravating that you have to finagel with different codes on different sites? It's a job all of its own!!! :computers

Yes, it is a lot of work and time consuming. For me it is always a goal to get my car rental rate as low as possible. I consider the car rental a "luxury" if you will and it just pains me to pay too much.

I agree. It's one of those things that I spend quite a bit of time searching for -- I love the luxury of having our own vehicle. It is definitely worth the time spent researching.

I agree CRSNDISNEY, it's just sooooo nice to have a car for those quick trips.
I am shocked that I'm the only one of the May Grand Gathering group who thinks that a car is worthwhile!!!! If I can get that $109.00 deal tho, I thinkI'm going to go for it.
I already have a one day to get me from the World to Tampa for @$35 on Friday.
My friends will be in town til Sunday evening. On Monday we have Grand Gathering and don't really need a car. So, the question is, can I go without T, W, Th? The thing is that I HATE the bus and I want to go to the Adventurer's Club one night. It is also so easy to drive to AK and even MGM for a 'quickie'. I hate planning on ah hour for transportation to /from these places using Disney transportation. I walk to Epcot, take the boat to MGM, but for the rest, I really like my car.
and the NUMBER ONE REASON I like a car, is that everytime I drive into the gate and they see my parking pass on the dash, I get a big WELCOME HOME! :jumpingbe

Last trip we were there for five days, four nights. We used the car on our first and last days, and then one night in between to go to Jiko (we stayed at BWV). We didn't use the car much, but I still feel it was worth the money when we did use it. I'm like you -- I really hate taking the buses. We even used the monorail to get to MK and spent a lot of our time at MGM and Epcot.
