We've never been to Olivia's so can you explain this one more to me?

Goods to Go is a lunch counter which (I believe) is in the same building as Olivia's. It has its own very basic menu--burgers and fries--but you could also order items off of Olivia's menu. Apparently that is no longer the case.

I wonder if you could just walk into Olivia's and place a to-go order?

As for the smoking rooms, interesting that it's a newsworthy event. I assumed that hotels would constantly move rooms out of the smoking category as necessary. I don't mean to imply that they would arbitrarily label a room "NS" for a few weeks after laundering the sheets and drapes just to meet upcoming demand. But it sure seems there has been a steady decline in smokers over the last decade or more. I assumed resorts would just make these informed decisions at regular intervals.

You cannot place a to-go order at Olivia's any more. When we ate there last June or July, I asked the same question and I was told that that day, whatever day I asked, was the last day you could get to-go orders. I asked why and they said it was too taxing on the staff, not sure if they meant kitchen staff or wait staff or people taking the orders or what. I was sad to learn that.

I have a good friend who used to make it their practice to get turkey sandwiches to go from Olivia's to eat on the plane ride home. Guess they will be finding a new favorite.

I suppose they could always go in, sit down, order, drink some water and when the food comes - say "oops, gotta run, can you put this in a doggy bag?"

Thanks for the explanation of that.

I read in a report on another board that they tried to get a to-go order from Olivias and they had a TON of trouble doing so. It took a lot of coniving (sp?) and discussion with the manager but they did it. They also told her not to expect to do it again.
