Going down this later this week :woohoodan

I think from the WDW site that EE is open during normal park hours as a sneak preview before official opening in April - it is not open during EMH for example

Does anyone have the clear scoop?

thanks

I don't think you'll get anything clearer from official sources. Until the formal grand opening, it's subject to closure at any time if issues arise. The whole purpose of this soft opening phase is to insure that the ride is functioning 365/yr once the official opening occurs.

That said, it was running from park opening when we were there last week, and I've not heard of any unexpected closures for about a month now (it was down for a few days in late Jan after the DVC/AP previews.)

We visited AK on a Thursday and found the wait times to be very reasonable. We made it to the ride around 9:20am. Standby was listed as 20 min and the FastPass return time was only 45 minutes out. I finally rode myself around noon. Standby was listed as 30 minutes, but based upon the line I saw it was probably closer to 15 min. I used the FastPass line and it took about 2-3 minutes from the time I entered the queue to the time I boarded a train.

Have fun. It's one amazing experience!

It was running every day we were down there, including EMH (morning).

I think the closer it gets to April, it would be a safe bet to assume it is open. Even the "top 7 must sees" on WDW channel is featuring it.

it is a INCREDIBLE ride. I can't wait to ride it again!!!!!:bluebloun

Thanks for the info - DW and I will have to take turns on this one - we will probably grab some FP's and go as we can take turns whilst the other watches the kids

cheers

It is my understanding that it is open for parts of the day, but not the entire day. I think there have been exceptions - I took my family the Saturday of presidents weekend, & DAK was open until 7pm that night. we went around 4pm and had about a 30 minute wait. Your best bet is probably to go first thing in the morning. Just my personal opinon.

Thanks all - DW and I managed to go on EE - it was great!

We obtained Fastpasses and breezed through the line - just before DW was supposed to get on, the ride stopped (this was Friday March 17th around 5:45pm) and was shut down for the rest of the day (there were 2 sets of cars that somehow were brought down - we did not stay to wait) - a CM gave DW a 4 person FP for the next day (and up to March 20th) - she then went on Sat Mar 18 and also shared her FP with a 70ish year old couple that otherwise would not have been able to wait for the 60 minute standby line - spreading some Disney Magic around

It is a great ride!

Cheers
