Reports are surfacing that Vacation Club Way will be closed Tue-Thu from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm between Buena Vista Drive and the entrance to Old Key West until September.
Rumors say this closure is due to delivery of the new tree houses in pre-fabricated pieces.
Visitors to SSR will have to use the back entrance off of Buena Vista Drive by Downton Disney during these hours (and plan for additional travel time to the parks through the Downtown Disney traffic).
As you can see from the linked map, the entrance to the Tree House Villas area lies between the entrance to SSR and OKW.

This information appears to come from a CMs Daily Update Sheet. If anyone has the exact wording or has more firm information, please post it.

That's an interesting tidbit on the treehouses. I haven't followed every discussion, but I missed that they are pre-fab. Probably makes it easier to get those up and running quicker.
Hi. Does anyone know if they will have roughly the same layout/amenities as the dvc rooms? that would in itself be an indication as to whether or not it will be part of dvc. Mary

Any updates or witnesses here? My understanding is delivery should have happened this last week?

In Saratoga this week, nothing has happened as of today. When you drive by, the gates are open during the day but closed at night. I don't think much will happen the beginning of this week because Tropical Storm Fay is supposed to be here by tomorrow.
I know this is a little off topic, but I never realized LBV golf course had so many trees. Luckily, I usually hit the ball pretty straight. Usually.
Any word on whether these will be DVC?

rumor mill says yes - they will be.
however until Disney annouces it - they could still change their minds.
the layout is a little different than DVC. of course most DVC are not 2 floors with a 2-bedroom. 3-bedroom (GV) can be 2 floors - but 2-bedroom generally are not.
these things might have both. don't remember.

I can't find the floorplan rightnow, but I recall they have three bedrooms, and all living space is upstairs, nothing downstairs.
I am also wondering, since these are pre-fab, these could be available to book in a relatively short time frame. Wonder when we will hear something about what they will be, DVC or no, SSR or no.

I just returned from WDW and was staying at SSR. I got caught behind two pre-fab pieces and their caravan of construction vehicles this past Monday (8/25). The road wasn't closed but we were held up for about 15 minutes which is not pleasant when standing on a bus. Also, maybe moving them in at 10:30am was not the best of plans.
