O.K., I just had lunch with my best Disney friend and she brought me some candy that she got on her last trip to WDW.
She brought me a Cadbury Flake bar from the U.K., which I thought was different, but not good enough for me to track down and get more.
She also brought me chocolate filled marshmallows from the store in China, that I just loved and thought they would be great in hot chocolate. Those I definitely would track down and buy. Each one was individually wrapped, so I could put one on everyone's desk when I got back to work.
So that leads me to my question. Is there anything you make sure you buy while at the Parks. Anything you make sure you stock up on when you are down there.

There is nothing I buy to bring back for myself, but the boys are building a collection of the dress up clothes from Lego Land. (not exactly what you are looking for I know).
I also make sure to ALWAYS get a Dole Whip and a few other items like that every trip.
We are still relative newbies and haven't explored EPCOT and Downtown Disney enough really.

the fudge from the Main Street shop is always a must get. We buy it, thinking we will give it to a coworker or family, but it is always dug into on the way home....
We always purchase a nice bottle or two from the WS. Especially the German Rieslings. I know we could find it somewhere on the internet, but it makes a nice souvie, and nice memory at that.
I stock up at the Basin, as there are not any of those anywhere near here. Funny thing is, DH has gotten to be a little basinhead himself. He gets his own basket now when we walk in the door------- I have to pinkypromise never ever let any of his employees in on that secret....

I bet my friend got those marshmallows in Japan, because she also mentioned the soda candy, and that is in Japan. I am gonna have to ask her to make sure.
lllovell, the wonderful thing about EPCOT is that there is so much from other countries that you can't get at home. I have purchased a lot of Christmas ornaments in Germany, a wonderful jacket for my son in Norway, soaps for $1.00 in China. I am always on the lookout for treasures that you cannot get at home.
Yes, I love those Dole pineapple whips, too, and have one every time I get to the MK.

Rozzie, I love Basin, too. That salt scrub is to die for. The lemon shower gel isn't too bad, either.
lllovell, if you haven't tried the Kaki Gori in Japan, make sure you do on your next trip. It is a gourmet snow cone and they are delicious. We get those every trip, too.

OHHHH...when my daughter went to Japan (age 12....and as an 'ambassador' yet!) she RAVED about the Japanese snow cones...said the flavored syrup was just extra extra special tasting. I will make sure to get one in May!
I think I ended up with a NO MORE kabosh on myelf re buying things on my travels. My house was getting too full of stuff, even when I gave most of it away.
I buy postcards now, from faraway places and stop there. I'm not much of a shopper anyway.
BUT, I think the Mickey shaped pastas are really cute. And last trip I bought some hoop earring with crystal mickey icon dangles....and I havent' lost them yet!

Ohhh, I love a Kaki Gori on a warm day / evening. I think it'd do better business if it weren't tucked away like it is.

I'm just starting my third bottle of Laila cologne from the Norway pavillion. It's the only scent I wear anymore. I also treasure my pickle ornament from Germany, and on this last trip I talked myself into the sterling silver Mickey head Tiffany bracelet.

I always pick up something new for my Mickey kitchen-Mickey hand spoon rest, dish towels, spatula something on that order.
Also a little tin of the Mickey or Donald mints that I keep in the car- :)

omg! how could I forget my beloved Laila? I am a Laila groupie, the only scent I wear also. My bottles last very long, as I am not allowed to wear scents to work, so 1 bottle will last over a year. DH wears and loves Geir. DH also has Geir Ness's accent down pat, after meeting him during F &W last year. It cracks me up!
oh, the Tiffany silver braclet? I want to see a picture also, I have always got to be on the lookout for birthday presents for myself!!!:D

DW says that everytime we pass by it.
Well, until last trip I'd be hard pressed to come up with an "always gotta buy" item. In Oct DW found a parfum in France (Epcot France that is) she loved - Cabotine (sp). No problem, when we get home I'll just pick it up at Macy's or some other high end store in the area for half the price. No such luck.
So we head back down a few weeks later for our Dec trip. I'm confident DW has long forgotten her new found favorite sweat masker but no such luck. Don't know how long a bottle of that stuff lasts but we hit The World three times a year. This may get expensive.

I'd love to post a picture, but I'm pretty much a computer idiot! If you've seen those bracelets from Tiffany's that so many people wear, it's like that. Silver links, but instead of the single heart or round medallion, there is a silver Mickey head with no engraving. It was $109 at World of Disney, but I also saw it at Mousegears. We were there for 10 days and it took me nine of those days to talk myself into buying it!

We always go during the F&G festival and I love to pick up a new print by the Artist Larry Dotson (I think that's his name).

The only thing I bring home food wise is Mrs Butterworths as we don't have it up here.

This cracks me up. :hahahaha: Aren't you guys famous for wonderful "true" maple syrup?
I was seriously thinking about checking in the Canadian stores to see if they carried maple syrup that I could bring back home.
Anytime you run out of Mrs. Butterworth's you let me know, I would be more than glad to send you some, honest.

It is sacriligious for our family to visit WDW and NOT buy funnel cakes in Americas and the lemon granitas in Italy. Gotta have 'em.

Another Butterworth-provider here, as well, DSNY FAN!
BTW - I for one am not a fan of "true" maple syrup - it's too thin and it soaks through the pancakes too easily - but I LOVE those maple sugar candies! (Often shaped like little maple leaves?) I stocked up on those suckers big time on my last trip to Kingston, Canada. Definitely not something we see in wild wonderful WV. I am alone in my affection, for them... our kids (and DH) think they are yuck. Oh well -- all the more for me! My mom/dad were from upstate NY (around Saranac Lake) so I used to get them when we would visit family up there.

We like to buy the candy coated chocolate in Norway. They are Norway's M&M's, can't remember the name but they are yummy. Each candy coating is flavored too! We also love the School bread.:blueflowe

Please tell me about lemon granitas
In Italy, there is a little cart that sells the granitas - frozen granular type beverage - I recall there is a strawberry and cappuchino flavor as well. I have tried all three - but the family agrees, lemon is numero uno. DH loves these because they remind him of the italian water ice he used to get in Wilmington DE as a kid. The "water ice" they sell in the store (the little cups you eat with a spoon) are actually more like a sorbet or gelatti. A granita or true italian ice is more like a loose snow cone, and the ones at Italy in EPCOT have a wonderful fine texture.
FWIW - the frozen lemonade in AK ain't too shabby either, and you get those way-cool re-usable safari Pluto plastic straws with 'em! My kids still use their straws at home for root beer floats, LOL!

Thanks for filling me in. My list of things to check out next trip is growing and growing and growing, and most everything on that list is food related.
