:sunny:Youngest DD was married a week ago Saturday (7/12). We provided a honeymoon through our DVC membership. They selected Keystone Resort (a ski resort in July?).
I called MS in March and made the arrangements. The process was effortless. For 80 points they were able to spend four nights/five days in the beautiful Colorado Rockies.
We picked the kids up at DFW airport on Friday. THEY LOVED THE RESORT AND ALL IT HAD TO PROVIDE: Hiking, white-water rafting, biking, dining, tours, wine tasting...The were provided an "Adventure Passport" included in their ressie allowing them to take advantage of special opportunities and/or rates on many of these activities.
They had a problem with transportation - missing the shuttle to the resort from Denver Airport, but rented a car FOR LESS MONEY, and were able to make several stops along the spectacular drive from Denver to Keystone. They were happy that they had missed the ride (not affiliated with the resort.)
Also, they were not able to check into their condo until 7 PM! The staff provided them with a free dining experience and complimentary bottles of wine, and the newlyweds were happy with that.
They loved their condo overlooking a clear Colorado mountain stream right off their deck. The resort's ammentities and opportunities to explore and enjoy the beauty of this part of the country were endless. They had a great time!
I am happy that our DVC membership allowed us to provide the kids with an unforgettable honeymoon.

Sounds like they had a great time. Isn't it great that you were able to privde them with that trip?
One confusing part....... how did they end up at DFW airport? Your sig. says you live in Michigan?

The happy couple lives in DFW area. DD flew home to Michigan on July 4th to finalize preps for the big day, and for a job interview near Grand Rapids. New Son-in-law drove their Dodge pick-up truck up for the wedding a day or two later due to work constraints, and also to provide a way to return gifts to Dallas. DW and I volunteered to return the gift-ladened truck to Dallas while they honeymooned at Keystone, and then pick them up on Friday at DFW.
We had a great road trip. Went to the top of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, and became acquainted with the numerous Choctaw Nation gaming establishments scattered throughout Oklahoma. We dropped down to Branson, MO and then took a beautiful drive through western Arkansas.
The newlyweds have been entertaining us here in Dallas since Friday. We return to Mid-Michigan tomorrow evening.
GREAT QUESTION!

Glad they had fun in my neck of the woods...a few miles from my home as a matter of fact. I had my wedding reception at Keystone many years ago...on 7/14 (but in the dark ages). Congrats to the happy couple!

Makes sense. If they live near Southlake then they are my neighbors. I wish them the best of luck and I hope you are enjoying your stay in the DFW area.

Dave,
They live in Weatherford. We have had a great time! Hope you guys get some rain, though.

They aren't too far at all. Glad you guys have enjoyed your stay. I'm with you on the rain! I'm still getting used to the weather pattern here as I'm from the Northeast. This time of year here is hot and dry. We are down about 5 inches or so for the year and we certainly aren't going to make that up during the summer. October, maybe. Only 30 inches of rain a year here so we don't get much to begin with.

We did Keystone in August a few years ago through DVC and loved it as well. Did all the things you mentioned plus they have a nice water park in Denver that we did. Also did the alpine slide nearby and lots of biking. I love the rockies.

Did they have a one bedromm unit for the 80 points?

We got a 2 BR with full kitchen and a BBQ on the patio. I can't remember how many points we used, but it was ridiculously low.
