I've been meaning to tell everyone that last week I called and booked a BWV SV room for our trip in February. That's only 4.5 months out and I had no problem getting the Standard View room for Sun - Thurs nights.

I've been critical of BWV in the past...mostly because of the hassle involved in getting around with two kids hanging from a stroller. I haven't yet decided how to handle it this time. Maybe more trips on the boat, even though it isn't the quickest way to get around.

In the end, the fact that I could save 15 pts over booking SSR won out. I also felt like I won the lottery getting that SV room so late in the game. :) The kids are excited because they loved being able to watch the boats float by our balcony last time.

I can't promise that I won't be as frustrated again when I return. But if that's the case, hopefully I'll find a way to bottle that emotion and use it as motivation to book elsewhere on our next trip. :)

Our dates are Feb 26th - Mar 3rd. So far I'm 2-for-2 in booking Standard View at BWV.

Right now I have a couple nights in May booked at SSR. I might call and move that room to BWV SV as well. I think Monday is the first day I can call to book outside of my Home for that trip.

I may still want to stay at SSR during that trip, but it's a situation where I would have several months to move back to SSR if I change my mind again.

Your a shark when it comes to using those points!!! Keep it up!!

I happen to be a huge BWV fan, but then again I have yet to stay there with kids! LOL And my top 3 things I love about BWV revolves around drinking! (the little bar off to the right of the lobby... the name is escapeing me at the moment, The lovely frozen poolside beverages, and stumbling distance from Jellyrolls!)

But We will be breaking it in with the Kiddies this December. I will let ya know how it goes!!

Where do you like to stay that is easier to get around with strollers? At a different DVC resort? It's been a bunch of years since I strollered anyone, and back then there WAS no DVC....but I kinda thought that the valet parking made getting your car so easy and not sure about the boats...but can you just push the stroller onto them, or do you have to take the kiddos out and fold the stroller up. (yuck)

If it's pushing the strollers down the long halls at BWV,you could request your room just above the valet area...right by the elevators then.

Hope you have a great trip!

Well, here's the comparison. If I stay at OKW or SSR, the bus stop is about 30 seconds away from my door. To me, folding up a stroller on the bus is the least of my worries. Or, I could also rent at the parks without any inconvenience.

Staying at BWV, renting at the parks is completely out of the question. The 15-20 minute walk to Epcot and MGM may be great for an adult, but a 2yo and 4yo have no shot of making that journey even once, much less a dozen times over the course of a week.

Pushing a stroller to and from EP and MGM isn't much fun either. Our son will be nearly 5 on this trip--44" and about 50lbs. So we're talking nearly 100lbs between the stroller and two kids. Did that back in May and it was no fun. The trip to MGM is fairly level--Epcot has at least two steep inclines in both directions.

We'll probably rent a double-stroller at MK and AK. The fee may be high, but they handle well, give the kids some room to spread out, and are convenient. I'm still not sure what to do about the other two parks. Right now, I'm leaning toward just bringing a stroller for our daughter, and renting at the park for our son. Hopefully a mixture of walking and boat rides to MGM and Epcot will keep my son somewhat cooperative.

There are a lot of things to like about BWV, but moving around with small kids isn't necessarily one of them.

The car situation is similar. At OKW and SSR (and BCV to some extent), your car is 30-60 seconds away from your room. Speaking as someone who will frequently come-and-go 3x per day using valet parking is a little more time consuming and those tips add-up over the week.

Well put indeed - thanks for writing this up - we have stayed at BWV and in the back of my head, I have akways thought it was not the best choice for when we all travel together (Have a 6 and 2 yr old) - your post neatly summarized some challenges with BWV and young ones

And here's proof that we all do things differently - I loved BW with my kids because we didn't have to deal with busses for two of the parks. We'd much rather push our kids in the stroller than pack everything up, fold it, and drag it onto the bus. But perhaps no matter how you do it, it's never terribly convenient to have people along who don't do their own walking :) . Too bad we like them too much to leave them behind!

I will say that at OKW we just used our car the whole time, and that was very convenient, except to the MK. Since you can't park there, we either had to bus it (which I HATE, and understand that many love, and would not think it was a trip without, lol), or drive, walk, monorail, and walk it. Neither was so great. Perhaps I just summarized why we need to try VWL!

Ha ha - :beaniepro

We love the Bus to the MK - different strokes for different folks

We went to VWL for first time this year - DS#1 loved going over to the MK in a boat or to FW by the hiking trail and then a boat to MK - he also liked taking the resort launch around the 7 seas lagoon
