? adding on/banking points? Very confused!!

Thinking about doing an addon but what happens if...

I have booked in Oct '06 using some of my 2006 points and the add on would give me points from '05 to bank to '06. Can I put those points that I used for the October trip back into my '06 use year and use the banked '05 points that I received from the add on? and bank those points from '06 that I originally used for the October trip-? My use year is April-

Under normal circumstances, I think you would not be allowed to do this. Once points are allocated to a trip, that's it. However, they may make an exception in this case. I'm thinking if you are doing an add-on through DVC you could talk to your guide and your chances would be better. Through re-sale, I don't know.

I am trying to remember if they actually switched points for me before or if they cancelled a ressie and made it "new" to use my points I had transferred into my account.

I would call MS on this one for an official word...then write down the person's name and maybe an employee # because you might get told something different when you call back. lol

i spoke with my guide meanwhile and she said that exceptions are made in the case of addons and I could "swap" out the points used in my October ressie for the '05 points and bank the ones I originally used to make the ressie-- BUT there arent any points for my April use yr. right now so had to go on the waiting list-

We discussed the price increase and as far as she knew it was for SSR only but the last time there was a price increase it was originally only for SSR but then a week before it actually went into effect the sold out properties were involved-

I did ask her if she has been busy and she said that there will be changes going with the financing part of DVC that would involve 2 tiered interest rates. She said that the better the credit the better the interest rate- I didnt get into it any further with her as I dont use the financing-

AND of course I just had to ask about the Contemporary...She laughed and said that she has not heard anything solid as of yet! :)

Cool that they do make exceptions for add ons, bummer that you have to await list. :dust

I made a ressie for Oct 2005 with Dec 2004 points; these were current year points. Then, we had to cancel and re-do our trip for Dec 2005. Because they were current year points, I was definitely able to then take these same points and bank them into 2005 to use for our Christmas trip. This is always allowed, to my knowledge. I would love it if someone else can confirm as well:solikeiwa
