My family and I just returned from the Sheraton Broadway Plantation in Myrtle Beach, S.C. For anyone thinking of using your points for this hotel, we would not recommend staying there. They never came to clean the room, swap towels or even replenish supplies. also, the stove was broken, the bed & sofa bed were terrible & there was a wasp nest outside on the terrace. the only good thing about this facility was the pool.

ACK! As a SC resident, I've never been a fan of Myrtle Beach. I'm sorry you didn't get a good trade. Maybe next time try Hilton Head.

Sheraton doesn't seem to have the same standards as DVC, Marriott or Hyatt. Their hotels seem to be better than their timeshares.
I'm also sorry you had a bad experience. Maybe it would be a good idea to start a forum for resort reviews so other owners see this type of info before spending their points.

We do have a review section (http://www.mouseowners.com/reviewpost) for DVC resorts.
However, reviews of other resorts really isn't within our scope. For that, I'd recommend that people go to tug or elsewhere. You have to pay for them, but it's worth it.

I agree the reviews on TUG are worth the membership price. I won't exchange into a resort without reading it!

I've also had bad luck at Myrtle Beach. A beautiful part of America... but definitely some sub-standard brand name accomodations.

There are only two, maybe three timeshares worth the exchange. Marriott, Dunes Village and maybe the new Bluegreen Resort.

I apreciate the feedback. my family and I did enjoy Myrtle Beach itself, although i beleive that it is too much of a tourist trap. but the beach was excellent. as far as the hotel is concerned, the pool was great - lots to do, and the staff had plenty of activities for the kids. but the accomodations left alot to be desired. as i indicated when i started this thread, the stove was broken, matresses were shabby, maids never cleaned or replaced towels & the wasp nest in the veranda. i would think that DVC would check out the facilities that it refers its members to before adding them to their list and i wanted to let other DVC memebers know about our experience before they decide to go to the same hotel.

One thing I will add, We dont' get the towel service with our Marriott and I consider them to be one of the best. I remember being impressed when I saw that Disney did this. So, on behalf of Sheraton, even higher end ts's don't do this.

When we were at Summit Watch, no mid week T/T service either. They had a note on the frig, saying the owners voted to not have mid week service. It was available for a price.
Hmm, wonder if cutting out the T/T will be the next DVC enhancement!:jester:

i guess disney spoiled me. but, with 5 people in the room we would have liked fresh towels 1x in a week not to mention fresh linen if for no other reason but for sanitary conditions.
