From the Pacific Business Journal:

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has brought in a 20-year veteran to serve as vice president of the club and resort to be built in Hawaii.

Djuan Rivers has been named vice president of Disney Vacation Club and Resort, Hawaii.

Rivers, who has relocated to Hawaii, will work with the community and business and government leaders as the 21-acre oceanfront property is built at Ko Olina Resort.

Rivers has helped open nine resorts in Florida and Paris. He has held various other leadership positions and most recently served as vice president of new business development for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

Sure does! Not be a party pooper, but does anyone know whether Eagle Pines ever had a VP? :Pssst:

I was in Hawaii this past February and took a drive out to Ko 'Olina to check out the future location of the DVC property. It really is beautiful, however the potential drawback I saw was an oil refinery located only a few kilometres away. Unfortunately, the refinery was also adjacent to industrial land.

The location itself for the proposed DVC resort is beautiful, however the lagoon its on is quite small, and appears to be a shared beach with the neighbouring Marriott.

On the upside... any DVC property in Hawaii is better than No DVC property in Hawaii!

Again, this is positive information about the resort.

I think that Hawaii has to make it as a DVC resort. Disney is running out of space to build another on-site DVC resort. They can add boutique DVC resorts, but that won't keep the sales force busy long. They need to expand off-site and be successful.

Now if we only get those drawings and more detail information that was supposed to be released in the Spring. Which reminds me, has anyone seen my AKV Tapestry?
