Hi all. As soon as my points are in the system I'm planning on trying for a F&W reservation. I'm flexible & don't mind waitlisting so I think I've got a good shot at getting something. OKW will be my 2nd choice resort, but I don't know that much about it except it's fairly spread out. Where are some good locations to request when making reservations? It will just be DH & I hopefully in a studio. Thanks for any input. :goodvibes

Dh and I stayed at South Point on our most recent trip. It is quiet. We were on a ground floor and could not enjoy the patio because it was so overgrown. Our particular room was very close to the bus stop ---- and as a result we heard the buses --- but not much else. We were a good hike to the leisure pool. Not my favorite place to stay --- but some people really enjoy it.
Miller Road and Turtle Krawl are my favorites. I prefer the leisure pools to the feature pool (I like to swim laps). I normally request Miller Road, Pool View in my room requests. So far, that has been a winning combination for me. It puts my close to the pool and the bus stop is fairly convenient also. Because I like doing laundry half-way through ( I underpack), proximity to the pool and laundry is more important to me than proximity to the bus stop.
I have never stayed in any of the buildings that they consider "Hospitality House." We seldom eat at Olivia's, don't rent DVDs, just no reason for us to be there since the feature pool is not a draw.

We have been partial to South Point Road because we love the water views. It is nice watching the boats pass by on a lazy morning/evening when you have some time to just relax. :chillpillThe buses passing by don't really bother us. I agree that some of that area is overgrown; one time, we felt like we were in a cave it was so dark on the patio even when the sun was "splitting the rocks", as my dad used to say. :yuck: This was in a 2-bedroom villa, but I have been in a studio with that issue too.
Old Turtle Pond Road is really nice and we usually have had golf views over there. It does have a nice pool and snack area (open seasonally only). We stayed on Peninsular Road once (in a GV) and liked that it was so close to the bus stop for the older family members who had joined us for a family reunion. I have no experience with Miller Road, except seeing it while we passed on the bus, but my mom stayed there last summer and loved it.

I like South Point too, and have stayed there every time in recent history (I now request South Point). I've also stayed at Turtle Pond (twice in Building 35) and I like that too. Building 35 has some nice water views.
Don't let them put you in Building 20 (Miller's Road). That's where the bus turns around and it may be a tad noisy because of it. And there's limited parking at Building 20.

I stayed near (darn--can't remember the name of the bus stop! It was the first one, and across the street from the main pool). I found that location ideal because the last bus stop was the Hospitality House. Both bus stops were within easy walking distance--we often just missed a bus and walked over to the Hospitality House to catch it there. It was nice to be able to miss the winding ride through OKW by getting on at the last bus stop, and getting off at ours.

I think it's called the Peninsular Road bus stop. This is the area we requested for our next trip in Oct. for many of the same reasons tasha99 gave. I'm hoping for building 23 with a view of the fountain, building 24 'might' have some fireworks views if I remember correctly, or building 25 looks like it has a pond view.
We really like having the option of walking to the Hospitality House if we want to. Other buildings close to the HH would be 11, 12, 13, 14, 62, 63, 61, 64, 15, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27. Hope this helps. Have a great time!

I can't recall the building but our last OKW stay we were not at SouthPoint as usual, and had the building overlooking the parking lot where they practice for the yearly WDW pargo races.... at 2am.
And apparently they were doing new bus driving training from about 1am - 4am that stay :veryconfu
I finally moved out after two days in search of some peace and quiet.
Southpoint is still my favourite area and is generally very quiet. After the bad hurricane seasons a few years ago I find the buildings by Millers Road have less 'noise insulation' as the greenery thinned out. Hopefully that will change soon!
Miller Road and Turtle Krawl are my favorites.

I have never been to the Gurgling Suitcase!!!
Until I got my owners locker and John and I made a wager about a drink, I had never even heard of it. Do I have the name of this road wrong? I may be thinking of Penninsula Road.
