How hard to book BCV?

Hi everyone.

I woke up to a huge disappointment this morning--the BCV 70 point contract I found on Sunday and wanted to buy is already sold. I want to buy a very small DVC contract (70-100 points). I really want to be able to stay at BCV most of the time, though BWV, OKW, and AKV also appeal to me. How hard is it to get into BCV in late August if you book at the 7 month mark? Should I hold out for BCV?

I put the word out with several online dvc resellers, but I'm wondering how hard it is to find a small contract like that. If it's no problem to book at BCV, maybe I should just buy 100 points at OKW. ???

I think you'll find it really varies - but if you try to book at exactly 7 months and don't get it, you might still get in on waitlist.

I have a 57-point BCV contract I'll be selling at the end of the year, so don't despair - people do sell them from time to time! Just keep looking :) (I'm selling mine because I just bought a 200-point BCV contract in a different use-year!)

I wouldn't buy somewhere else with the hope of getting into BCV though - I did that (bought hundreds of points at another DVC) and have decided I really like BCV, which is why we've bought more.

I've gotten into a BCV at 7 months, but at a slow time of year for DVC. As the membership grows, it will be harder and harder to get into BCV. Even the BLT folk ( the new tower at the Contemporary) will probably want to book BCV sometime because of Stormalong Bay.

Smaller contracts come up - your best bet is to get onto a waiting list since they are snapped quickly. You can even buy BCV through Disney, but I think you'll be limited to the 160 point buy in, and you'll still be on a waiting list as they exercise ROFR to get inventory.

Thanks for the info everyone. It does make sense to me that as DVC grows, it will become harder.

Mountainjourno, when you do sell your contract, please PM me and tell me at what agency and when--if I haven't found one by then maybe I can get the jump on that one. :)
