A site called Screamscape.com is reporting that the Stars and Motor Cars will be moving to Disney Studios in Paris next year, and that California Adventure's Pixar Block Party Bash will move to Florida's MGM.
Rumors on this site are often very speculative, but this topic was addressed twice in a 3-day period, including details about Disney investigating road clearances and such for the Block Party floats at MGM.
I think we'll see more and more of this over time. It's becoming more and more commonplace to replicate popular rides. Cindarellabration came to WDW from Tokyo(?)...Tarzan Rocks is headed out to another park....why not rotate parades, too?

I am all for it as long as the money is spent to keep things looking fresh.
Saves them income, keeps things changing to keep me interested, keeps ticket prices from going up "too" much (or it should do all those things).

Sadly, I don't think it will keep prices down to any great degree.
In today's world, everything seems to be about growth--BIGGER profits, INCREASED revenue. But the one thing it does do is create an environment with more successes and fewer failures. If you're going to copy an attraction from one park to another, you pick Soarin, not Body Wars. You pick Tower of Terror, not Stitch's Great Escape.
The downside is that there's less overall inventiveness throughout the parks....less incentive to travel to other parks. A big incentive to visit California Adventure was removed when Soarin opened at Epcot.
Even where parades are concerned, if the average lifespan was something like 4-5 years, you can double or triple that if it makes the rounds to other parks. I may be wrong, but I think that the Block Party has only been running at CA for about a year. If this rumor is true, that means they are getting a new show after only 2 years. I'd much rather see that sort of turnover than what we are seeing now. I think the MK parade is going on 6 years now in its current format. :thumbsway
OMgoodness! I hope this one is true! :dancingba We loved the Block Party Bash when we went to DL last summer. In fact, for our 2 day stay, we ended up seeing it 2x. I hope they do it later in the day like they do at DCA too. We miss all the parades 'cause around 3 pm is always our nap time!

Yup, I agree, but I DO like having Soarin' at WDW. And I doubt we'll be seeing Paris or Hong Kong any time soon.
Now...to get a parade back in Epcot. I still miss Tapestry. That was in a class all its own. VERY inventive.

Tapestry was indeed amazing.
Block Party is nothing like it, but pretty unique too. :dancingba

nono- What is the Block Party Bash like? I am not familiar with it at all-
It's kinda of parade/show. The parade rolls up, then stops and a show starts. It stars Pixar characters and dancers! Very young entertainers -- VERY energetic. Audience participation is expected at certain points in the show (dancing).
This link is pretty accurate, except for the confetti in the beginning. http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/parks/entertainment/detail?name=50thBlockPartyBashEntertainmentPage&bhcp=1

It's really fun, I agree. Different from all the other parades...it's more of a "show" as they remain stationary for a long time! I think it would be a refreshing change at MGM!

so let me get this right, Star Wars characters won't be dancing in the block party? Our favorite parade tradition is to yell at the top of our lungs "ANAKIN!" when Vader walks by us. He always stops and clenches his fist at us.
I know we are cheeseballs. We'll get over it. I just sometimes have a hard time when they take away traditions.
But yes, change is good. Keep things fresh.:hypnotict
This sounds like a lot of fun and a great addition to MGM. I never really cared for the current parade.

The current parage at MGM takes place at 5:30pm so maybe it won't be at naptime:thumbsup:

Lisa,
We have been going recently at off times of the year. When we were there earlier this month, it was at 3:30 pm. I didn't realize that when we go again in June, it's later, like you say! Thanks for the heads-up! Maybe we'll catch it.
