Friday the 30th afternoon;
I moved the second part of this day to its own thread, the morning of the 30th is on the old thread, if you want to see it.

Roughly 10 students chose to stay at AK and forgo a shower & swim before dinner, the rest of us headed back to the POFQ.

At around 3 we headed off for Epcot, pausing for a couple of pictures on the way in, and grabbing a fast pass for Soarin before heading back to Germany for our Biergarten ADRS.

It was scorching hot by now and after our march straight to the back of WS we were anxious to get into the air conditioning and out of the sun. DH tried to get some of us to come out and see the clock strike 4, I don’t think he had any takers, the sun was too brutal!

The rest of our group showed up right on time, and we were seated promptly.
Our first table service dinner as a group was quite a hit; the students proclaimed it an excellent choice and enjoyed flirting w/ some of the staff!

The restaurant was not at all crowded so we didn’t feel rushed to finish up. The entertainment had begun as we were about ½ finished with our meal, perfect!

The heat outside seemed more bearable when we came out of the restaurant, it helped that we were not in a hurry to get anywhere. Many of us watched the Acrobats in China and then everyone drifted off to see what interested them.
Kathy, our DH’s & I rode Maelstrom, and then meandered up to Future World & rode Mission Space. We rode the “more intense” side. It was fun to be with our friends who were trying this for the first time. Afterwards we made some Postcards from Space, always good for a laugh!

What else we did this evening escapes me at the moment. We went back to the Land to use our Soarin FP’s and it was quite time yet, we went to Sunshine seasons and everyone got dessert, I was a good girl and had an orange.
Some of the students were also filtering in to use their FP’s, and we rode with some of them, I was glad we did, it was fun to listen to then saying Oh my Gosh Oh My Gosh & Ooing and Aahing ! Listening to them enjoy Soarin really made me smile.

Here are Kathy, some of the girls from the room I chaperoned, and me getting on Soarin

We tried to visit Ice Station Cool but we arrived just minutes after they had closed.
We secured a good spot from which to view Illuminations,( I knew of this location thanks to another Mouse Owners previous trip report!) and sat down to wait. Some of the students found a& joined us which made the wait quite pleasant. We enjoyed the show and filled up our bus on the way back to the hotel where we were proud to see our young men offer their seats to others.
Many of the students hit he pool until their midnight curfew. Again it was nice to see our guard standing there as they headed to their rooms for the night!
I don't know about the kids, but I was pooped!

It's the book by Noel Langley. If you ever get the chance to read it, make sure you get a pre 1969 edition. This was before the Police of Political Correctness re-wrote (and ruined) it.
