do you fly more often - since you are solo traveler or still drive (if you did)
flying in Sept - not sure about next May.
My solo trips are always flying... the same as if I am going with DW or the entire family.

I have never gone solo, but we do go often without the kids. We always fly, especially if its just the two of us. Still cheaper then driving.
Plus, I love the fact that I can leave BWI at 6am and be at the hotel by 9am and the parks by 10am.

I'm afraid I can't really help, it's 1300 miles so I've always flown, whether solo or with DH. However, I'd be very interested in what to do from your area. We'd like to move to central Alabama when DH retires, and one thing I've wondered (gotta keep WDW in my plans!) is whether I'll fly or drive from there when I go on solo trips. I'm sure we'll drive when DH and I go, but I'm not so sure about solo. So I'd be interested in the answers to this one!

Since we live in Minnesota, we have always flown. Couldn't wait to get there fast. However, now that we will be visiting at least every other year, we have been thinking that maybe we'll take our time every once in awhile and see the sights along the way. This would probably work for us the best when we visit HHI.

Being about 950 miles away in Houston, we've done some of each. Before kids, we drove it: day 1 stop for dinner New Orleans; day 2 brunch in New Orleans, buy more loosely fitting pants, drive to Ft. Walton beach area; day 3, play on beach in the morning arrive in Orlando early evening. Nice and liesurely. I can't imagine driving it straight through.
Since the kids arrived (4 and 2), we fly. I look forward to getting back to the roadtrips again. But the kids will need to be 2 or 3 years older before I'd try to impose a 14 hour car trip. And on the first such attempt, I think we rent a car to drive there, and then fly back. More fun driving there, than back.

well Southwest generally has some nice deals - although alot less lately. there is also Spirt airlines flights out from Atlanta - sometimes it has great deals.
Southwest has already upped it prices for my Sept trip - glad I already brought the tickets.
just depends upon the deals that airlines have for when I am going to WDW - if I fly or drive.
