Is there any area near AKL for running? We are looking for 3-5 mile runs.

Thanks

The walkways are narrow as we walked from AK to AKL. Some shoulder and some grass. I don't have any trails for their but check out my website at http://www.disneyrunning.com/wdwtrails.html for property maps. I like running around the BW area. You can get a good run from CSR & ASR.

The AKL isn't really set up for that kind of recreation, unfortunately. You would have to run along public roads in the area, which I'm not sure is all that safe.

Do they actually have walkways to AK? I thought it was just shoulder on the busy road there?

BTW, great website!

Here's a satellite view of the AKL drive meeting the main road.

I mis-spoke in that we walked on the grass area to the side of the road. There are some narrow shoulders that go to basically nothing where there are bushes along the road(no grass) so it just car lanes.

There are no walkways(or sidewalks). It is dangerous in parts. Be careful!

It is my understanding, that AK (sorry not AKV) has a unique running experience. It is about 3-5 miles, unless you are very fast. Sadly it is only open to DVC Renters, Owners who rent and line jumpers.

What was it called again....? hmmmm.

Oh yeah, :headscrat Disney's Lion Quest, a.k.a.running with the lions!:innocent:

Disney has a similar exercise program to keep the other animals fit......

Nope, just back. Nowhere to run. You'll have to drive somewhere and run or use the dreadmill.

Luckily, I've planned my fall trip there as a severe cutback week, so the treadmill won't be so ridiculously horrible.

Treeguy, sorry the news isn't better. :sosad: It is very frustrating that a place like WDW, with all the endurance events, isn't more runner-friendly.
