OK so i am going to attempt a trip report here i dont know how good it will be but im trying! We went to ssr may 23rd to June 2nd it was our first trip there and first with dvc. We arrived friday and hoped on the magic express, first thing i noticed it was packed like really packed so my only options were to have my 4 y/o sit on my lap or to have him sit at one end of the bus and me at the other, so i put him on my lap not the most comfortable for me but o well! We checked in and got the springs section as requested ( i was really hoping for this so it was a good thing). We got to our room(studio) villa 3312, dropped off our carryons and went down to the pool, which wasnt to crowded (always a good thing)! Tried artists palette beofre hoping in the pool wasnt to impressed the bread on my sandwich was hard but DS loved the mac and cheese. Swam for a bit then off to downtown disney! Spent some time looking around and had a bite to eat at wolfgang express ( i love that place), when we got back to the room our few groceries were there and the surprise from mickey aka disney florist, DS was ecstatic! all in all not a bad first day!

Up early saturday to go to seaworld ( call me a trader if u must but i love seaworld and try to go at least once each trip) spent the day there it was pretty good only had one scare, i have never been there while pregnant and wasnt thinking about making sure i ate or drank enough since it was hott and i didnt have an apetite so i got a little dizzy and lightheaded but it was cured quickly! Sunday morning was animal kingdom, call me crazy but never really loved this park, it is more of a half day park to me! Anyways so we went to the new donalds breakfast it was good but i think i liked the old one a little more! and checked out a few things. Than back to the hotel to hang out in the pool. Monday was planned as an easy day since we had the pirate and princess party that night, we headed down to dtd for a bit had lunch at the rainforest cafe, not that great but we have one at home so i knew that but DS loves it and we had reservations for later in the week at the one at animal kingdown but since there was only a 30 minute wait we figured do it now and cancel the reservations for later, after that it was over to pirate and princess party we got there around 330 so we walked over and got our wrist bands and were set for the night, we wandered over to haunted mansion DS's idea and the first time he held my arm so tight but than proudly declared he loved it and wanted to go on again , there was no wait at all so we rode it twice more before heading over to crystal palace for dinner, it was yummy and DS loved the characters! After that off to get some treasure and pirate of the caribean ride! he loved it as much as last year and we rode it three times. Next up the parade we wound up getting really good seats for the parade and DS got to be the frontierland sheriff which made his night! Then off to haunted mansion again! We rode it 6 times than stopped for fireworks than rode it a few more times, at this point it was 11 and we were all tired so decided to call it a night!

Tuesday was my favorite day it was spa day, my mom had booked me the prenatal massage and a facial so DS said he wanted to get his first massage too so off we went for our 945 apt, he and nana than went to the pool while i finished up then back to the room to change and off to planet hollywood and DTD. Wednesday was another seaworld day. Thursday DS wasnt feeling well so we stayed by the pool and then off to mickeys BBQ yes i know the food is not the best but DS loves it, so we went and surprise he got picked to open the BBQ by ringing the dinner bell, got some good pics and a magical moments certificate. Friday we went to typhoon lagoon i have never been and loved it of course i couldnt go on much but DS was content to play in the kids area and go on the lazy river repeatedly.

Saturday Hollywood studios so i knew it woudl be a long day, got there and prego mommy was having a hard time with the heat for some reason so took it slow and looked around for an hr or so than off to hollywood and vine for an early lunch it was yummy. Than over to Toy story yes opening day so lines were insane we were going to get a fast pass but it was currently for our dinner time, so we waited in the line an hr and half later we were on the ride and as soon as its over DS declared he wanted to ride it again so we got fast passes for later, headed over did the great movie ride twice and watched block party bash DS loved it, than slowly walked over to our early dinner (fantasmic package) after dinner went back over to great movie ride than toy story it said the wait was 40 minutes and we had an hr and half to kill before our fast pass so we got in line BIG MISTAKE an hr or so later we are at the front of the line and 20 minutes later actually off the ride again just in time for fast pass so we went on again time #3! DS wanted to ride it again but we had to get over to fantasmic so i said no.

Sunday was DS choice so back to magic kingdom then to chef mickeys for dinner and off to DTD for some last minute shopping! Monday was a sad day time to check out so we looked over the express check out slip everything looked good, checked in for our airline than spent a few hrs at the pool, grabbed a quick lunch at artists palette and a few last minute things before off to the airport! I have been home 2 days and already want to plan my next trip!

I can't speak for anyone else, but I won't read this post simply because of the lack of punctuation. You might try editing it to insert some hard returns (i.e. paragraphs), commas, capitals and apostrophes, spelling "I'm" instead of "im", etc.

I know it is out of fashion these days to use correct grammar, but I literally can't read that much text without punctuation.

I'd like to read it, but can you just edit your original post and add punctuation and separate it into a couple of paragraphs maybe?

Well I'm sorry if you got offended. It wasn't meant that way. I don't care what you do, but I was telling you that I can't read that much unpunctuated text.

How can you say that your punctuation isn't that bad? Look at the post just above mine. You have used exactly two pieces of punctuation (i.e. marks to denote the end of sentences). You haven't used any capitals, any commas, any apostrophes.

You have the right to write that way if you wish. This isn't school and I'm not grading you. But as a matter of opinion, I think your punctuation is barely existent and I don't choose to read your text because it is truly difficult and headache-inducing. You have the right to disagree with my opinion or to disregard it, but I chose to post it because I thought you might like some feedback to increase readability in case I am not in a minority of one.

I agree, Tom. And don't apologize, kidatheart.

If it bothers you, Wendy, then don't read it. But please reserve your harshness/rudeness for venues other than MO: we try to be friendly here, even when we disagree with each other and don't see eye-to-eye regarding issues far more important than grammar and the way a post is laid out. Your comment really made me angry, and on these boards, that's a tough thing to do.

Thank you for your future consideration, Wendy.

Hey, thanks for breaking it up into paragraphs. I'm starting to get old and it sure helps me when my eyes can't wrap so well to the next line -- I at least can still remember what paragraph I was in :D.

Wow, sounds like you had a really full bus coming from the airport -- I'm betting they didn't count so well when loading up the bus. Expecting and a 4 yr old on your lap. Not the kind of thrill ride I'd want to be on after a plane trip! :faint:

I went back and edited that (before your comment) 10 seconds after I posted it because I realized I'd made an error and I care about readability. Others can care about that or not.

But thanks for sticking a fork in my eye over it. That's sure to help smooth things over.

Your grammatical error was, honestly, deliciously ironic. I was merely pointing out that those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Sometimes the truth hurts. Sorry about that.

I tried to move our discussion to private messages so it wouldn't hijack this thread anymore than it has already (which honestly was not my intent). I've also suggested to you that you simply delete all the grammatically related posts in this thread so it can be returned to its original purpose. I really was only trying to make one quick post so that I could read the OP's report and things have spiralled from there.

I don't live in a glass house. I've never pretended that I use perfect grammar, at least not in a relatively informal environment like a bulletin board. I certainly never suggested that I don't make mistakes and need to edit. My point to the OP was that a little grammar helps at least some people (and I'm one of them) to be able to read. My point to you wasn't that it hurt when you pointed out the error, but that your choosing to do so certainly didn't help wind down this incident.

OP, I am truly sorry if you felt hurt by my comment.

Administrator, if you would like to remove the grammatically related posts, please do so. If you would like to continue a discussion with me in private, please do so. But let's stop having this discussion in public, please.

excellent! when i first read the referred to post, i noticed that it had been edited; i figured it was for making a correction, but the particular word in question... deliciously ironic indeed. thanks for pointing it out.

My spelling is horrid... and I make typos galore.

I will state that there are lots of posts that I just will not read when people type in all caps, fail to break into paragraphs, use no puncuation, etc. I generally just keep my mouth shut and click on by. Hopefully people do not do that to my posts too often.

FIrst of all, thanks for breaking it up with the edit. It helped.

How did you get to Sea World? Taxi?

Than back to the hotel to hang out in the pool.
Did you find the pool to be crowded while there or usable?

Next up the parade we wound up getting really good seats for the parade and DS got to be the frontierland sheriff which made his night!
That's so cool!

Then off to haunted mansion again! We rode it 6 times than stopped for fireworks than rode it a few more times, at this point it was 11 and we were all tired so decided to call it a night!
I'm impressed he loved HM that much! We are trying to determine if our daughter (3yo) would be afraid for our next trip. We haven't seen the revamp yet and would love to.

Tuesday was my favorite day it was spa day, my mom had booked me the prenatal massage and a facial so
What a wonderful present! How far along are you?

Thursday DS wasnt feeling well so we stayed by the pool and then off to mickeys BBQ yes i know the food is not the best but DS loves it, so we went and surprise he got picked to open the BBQ by ringing the dinner bell, got some good pics and a magical moments certificate.
That's so cool! We've never been to the BBQ. What is the entertainment like?

Fun TR! Thanks for posting it!

Okay, we've probably said all that needs to be said about grammar and spelling at this point, so let's get back on topic.

Very nice TR, kidatheart. I thought it was great when I read that your son wanted to have a massage, too: Good for him! Maybe the experience will implant the idea of massages as future Mother's Day gifts! :woohoodan

CRSNDSNY: ok im going to try and answer it all if i can remember ha ha!
yes we took a taxi i wasn't to bad really about 18.00-20.00 each way being from boston thats cheap!

THe pool wasn't that crowded at times it was but not to bad.

The haunted mansion was fun i liked it alot, he was scared at first but than got used to it, and ending up loving it. We did see some kids younger than him with mixed reactions.

The massage was awesome, i am 24 weeks and now addicted to prenatal massages ha ha.

At the bbq they had a band playing country music (which i love) and the characters came out to dance with the kids, and someone doing rope tricks it is pretty fun for us but alot of ppl dont like it.

Dear OP:

I enjoyed your trip report. I don't know if you edited it to add spaces or not, but long posts (of which I am occassionally guitly of, ;) ) need spacing to be more readable.

Please continue to post as your TR was very good. I don't belive OttawaWendy meant her post the way that they ended up sounding. 'Tone' is very hard to measure in a written comment.

I was once accused of be antisemetic on another board, because I dropped a quotation mark in my hurry to type.

Being Jewish, I found that quite amusing, but no one else did, so I feel for you OttawaWendy.

Again, verg good report, keept them comming.

I agree with tomandrobin,

we constantly complain about how other websites treat others, lets not be like them. This is a nice and friendly community. If someone does not want to read it fine, just skip it but, please do not write back and make her feel bad.

I also noticed this person joined our community not too long ago and has few posts. I think the negative comments about her grammar were unrequested and critical. This is a DVC website not Grammar school. (It is nice if done but not a requirement)

Note to disneykidatheart: Thanks for the report, I enjoyed it and understood it.

Hi!
Thanks for the trip report. We have done some of the same things you guys did. My youngest loved Mickey's BYBBQ. I appreciated the drinks. That was our first trip to Ft. Wilderness---loved it!!
I am curious, since we are going to SSR on Mon.--what were the busses like? I am feeling anxious about it since I read the bus thread. Also, what time did you arrive @ MCO to get on ME? We are supposed to get there early; I hope that helps.
Thanks!

We are a new DVC member at SSR and our first trip won't be until December, so it's great to hear about the resort from someone new as well.

Did the resort live up to your expectations? When you went to DTD did you walk - if so, how long of a walk was it from the Springs? We have requested Congress Park to be closer to DTD - if we don't get that is Springs a reasonable alternative?

Thanks again for the report. Sorry about the negativity, but I have been on this site for just a couple of months and that is the first negative response I have seen - most of them are very informative and some threads are downright hysterical (had to stop reading the MOD one because I was laughing out loud at work!!)

Thanks to everyone for being so helpful and nice to us newbies!

Thanks for your report. We were there the same week in Grandstand with our 3.5 yr old. We are easy to spot - 2 white people with a really really really cute Chinese little girl:beatinghe

I'm glad you wrote about taking ds to haunted mansion and pirates. We haven't taken dd to any of the "big kid rides". Now the next time we go to DL I'll definitely expand our horizons and take her on more rides.

Don't worry about your grammer, punctuation, etc. I'm a terrible writer and make tons of mistakes. Just separate the paragraphs a bit and it's easier to read. You are new so you probably aren't totally up to speed on posting. It's all good!:kickingco

That post about your punctuation was the first time I've ever seen any negativity on this board. That's why I like it here, everyone is positive and are here for the same reason, we love DVC, and love to discuss, share ideas, etc. I hope it doesnt continue because no one is perfect. :judge:

I really enjoyed your trip report. Thanks for sharing!

We honestly didnt take the busses that much because my mom was just picturing me having to stand with the big belly and DS (4) so she was like umm lets take a cab this time ha ha! But the few times we took them they were not bad at all, we did take the boat to DTD and loved it! We didn't get there early we were got there right around noon.
