Maybe to add a couple extra Captain Jack's they found laying in a back room. Cause you know we all can't get enough of the Captain.

Maybe the captain needs an extensive spa treatment?

Ya'll is soooooo bad.

This was a serious question.

After being accused of having no sense of humor, I expected to be taken seriously.

Now exilled from the lands of humour and seriousness.... What to do.....What to do????

Yo Ho! (Good both at POTC and any street corner in Philly!) And I mean that as a greeting, not a solicitation. The minds of some people!

However, the rumored year long shutdown of space mountain starting in Jan 09 is looking more and more to be true based on what I have been reading

Thank you but I am just a Paduan compared to your Yoda skills of sleuthing!:sherlock:

I tend read MO and a few other sites devoted to rides and rollercoasters. This is was posted on one of those sites. Below is Rumor info on SM refurb.

ok....on the topic of the space mountain refurbishment, many of you loyal MCer's have been wondering when and what will be happening. Here is what I know based on the last few weeks of talking to the Test and Adjust crew, Imagineers, and the structural engineers. Keep in mind thes are not absolutely in stone, but this is what is in store as of now.

The queue will be the same, but updated with new projections and interactive games (think Soarin' but cooler).

The entire track will be replaced with new higher guaged steel, but the layout WILL NOT change - this includes new brakes and conveyors of course, and new main lift chain.

Digital projections will be placed in the ride area (there are already a few currently in place) with some new effects.

The load area will be enclosed so you cannot see the ride area, but there will be star effects on the new load ceiling.

New rocket trains with audio soundtrack will make an appearance (they will still be single seaters like the current ones).

Quick reset conveyors to help make downtimes less time consuming.

Slight re-themeing of the unload area to make you feel like you truly just pulled into a space port.
The post show area is still up for debate - it may change or stay the same....no news yet.

This is what i know for now and i will keep y'all updated the best i can.

Also, the refurb is still scheduled for january 2009

I did no sleuthing here only edit/copy/paste

Ok, so maybe the increase in popularity of POC with the addition of Jack has led to the need? I dunno. I thought they just redid it not that long ago too.

As far as SM. It is about time. I am sure that there is new technology that could really improve that ride experience. It used to be one of my favorites but pales in comparison to the new stuff. They need to Disneyize it!

I love the info you guys find!!!

I do hope SM is getting overhauled! It liked to killed me the last two times, I have had to quit riding it. This used to be the first and last ride we rode every trip. It hurt my neck, it was so rough. I can ride RnR all day, so I am able to still ride Roller coasters.:hahahaha:
