AKV: Ice makers in fridge?

Hi Everyone,

We're getting ready for our annual trip to the Mouse (6/22!!) and I am getting the last few details together. I've looked around the forum to find a definitive answer to this question: Do the refrigerators at AKV have filters, water and ice? Because, let's face it, the tap water in WDW is pretty bad. I was hoping to *not* have to buy or bring bottled water if I don't have to. So, any advice would be helpful.

Also, we are probably going to just use the on-site grocery delivery thingy - any advice/experiences using GardenGrocer?

Don't have ananswer to that .

But what we do is buy a few bags of the MickeyEars Refreezable ice cubes. They work great and don't water things down. We always buy Bottled water and for the Parks you can ask for a Cup of free icewater at most CS places and it is filtered.

We then bring them back home and enjoy them for the rest of the year .Sometimes the ears will split so this keeps us replentished a the house

If I remember correctly, only OKW has ice makers in the refrigerators. All the rest have ice cube trays.

That is correct. When we toured the AKV models, there was an icemaker in the fridge, but there was none in the one-bedroom that we stayed in last year.

We keep a Brita water filter pitcher and two ice trays in our Owners Locker, so we always have the ability to have "good" ice for our drinks.

Just used Garden Grocer for our Trip Memorial Day Weekend. Their sevice was great!!!

Assuming there are no ice makers in there, I would just add a gallon of bottled water from your grocery order. At least from the outside service, it will be much cheaper than buying from the Disney store.

I haven't used Garden Grocer but, have only heard good things about them. I've used Wegoshop and have had excellent service from them.
