Four days and counting!!!
Best of all the weather is looking pretty decent. We probably won't see temps in the 80s like they are now, but it looks like most of next week will be in the 70s. :cheerlead
I may not be around much the rest of this week or next, but I will try to check-in occasionally. Spent the day today shuffling the kids between school and drs appointments. Tomorrow night DW has her epic hair appointment scheduled after work. My response to hair problems: :cowboy: And we haven't even started packing yet!!! :jawdroppi
Since I'm self-employed and haven't exactly told clients that I will be unavailable, I will definitely be checking messages nightly during the trip. I'll try to drop in here and post some thoughts as well. If you don't see me much, it's probably because my dial-up access is just toooooooo slooooooooow, and I'm too cheap to splurge on the high speed.
If anyone needs any info or photos while I'm down, let me know. We're only planning to do AK once during the trip, but I'll try to make note of wait times and such for EE on that day. If it's running and they're issuing FastPasses, my plan is to get FPs upon entry and do the safari via standby. With two young kids to corral in the morning, I don't think we've ever made a park opening. (OK, actually I'm usually the one to blame. :coffee2: ) But hopefully we'll get there sometime before 10am.
Anyway, I just thought I'd take a minute to write this pseudo-send off before I really got in a crunch for time. Thanks to everyone for your planning advice. Hopefully we will have more "hits" than "misses". :)
Tim :sailing:

Refresh my memory--where are the kiosks? I saw them mentioned in a post somewhere, but don't recall the locations.
I'll absolutely do some form of trip report during or after our stay.

Have a ton of fun Tim! What resort are you staying at?
Oh and BTW I hear there's a great band who wear Kilts and who perform at an outdoor stage by the Canadian Pavillion. If you get a chance can you stop by and let me know if they're any good? ;) :D:rockband:

Three more days!!! Woo-hoo!!!!!
Weather's looking good. 68 first two days, mid-70s the next two and upper-70s the last two.
God, traveling by air is stressful, though. :holymoly: Yeah, it takes forever to get there via car, but at least you can just chuck everthing in the car and sort it out when you arrive. Heck, by car we can even get 30 miles from home and turn back for the thing we forgot.
By air, I'm already feeling this tremendous pressure to get everything organized into managable units that two grown adults can actually get through an airport without a forklift trailing behind. :headbrick

Just keep reminding yourself of the extra time you are gaining on vacation!!!
We have gotten our things down to one fork lift load, but we can't seem to get them any smaller. Hubby wants to go for longer than 5 nights, but agrees that the point cost for the weekends is tough...but every time I remind him that it means moving our stuff (really - all we have to do is PACK it even), he turns pale and says 5 nights at a time will do for now!
Just think how bad it is for those of us traveling with a baby when we head somewhere ELSE that doesn't provide pack n plays and high chairs!!! I need a bigger car!

Have a great trip Tim -- leave some of the magic for the rest of us. For us it's 14 days until we leave and 16 days, 14 hours until we're at OKW.

Just thought I'd let everyone know the countdown is over and the alarm is set for 4:30am (ugh!) We're as ready as we'll ever be.
Weather looks good. High of 65 Sunday (which is OK since we'll be traveling in jeans anyway) steadily increasing to 80+ by the time we leave on Friday.
I'll probably check-in by Monday or Tuesday. Can't ignore work any longer than that, and as long as I'm on, I might as well have some fun, too.
Later.

hahaha Shorts weather ALWAYS makes me think of the time we went down in early February. Standing in line outside the AK waiting for it to open, the talking palmtree was there, buzzing around...talking with folks and he went up behind this gentleman in shorts with a sweat shirt on. The rest of us were standing around shivering on this crisp morning, so it was chilly (about 40 degrees). The palm tree said, "Came to Florida and by gosh gonna wear those shorts huh big guy." in his funny little voice. Everyone lost it :fresh:
Hope your trip is going well Tim!
