I have a confession to make. My husband and I NEVER go to clubs. Our young adult children LOVE a little nightlife. (our last family vacation was to Palicios Texas and they were put out by the lack of nightlife and said from now on to assume that they would want to go to clubs).
I am (still) planning our September trip. One of the things that I want to include for at least one night and possibly two is a nigtlife outing.
I know that the Adventurers Club exists, I think that it may be a little too restrained for them. I know that the comedy club exists and might be fun. The kids would enjoy dancing more than either of those. Is there still a dance club?
Are their particular nights that are better than others for nightlife? What do you recommend?
Help is greatly appreciated.

According to DD26:
The most popular club at PI is the BET Soundstage which is RAP/Hip Hop and has lots of local 20 something's in attendance. Over 21 only. 8 Trax is all ages disco... Mannequins is 21 and over pop music. There are others for live music (it has a shark on the logo... but she cannot remember the name). Neon Armadillo is gone and she says there is not a country replacement. She said that she knows she is missing some. DD26 says that when she goes... lots of guys hit on her, so she avoids the dance clubs and often goes to AC and CW instead. She added that AC is really a lot of fun.
Monday/Thursday are the employee discount days... but everyone gets the discount well drinks and draft beers. These days are busiest according to dd26.

BTW: Jenn (DD26) is laughing at her name here... saying that it sounds like she is some type of robot model.

:hahahaha:
I thought the same thing when I first got on this forum. I had to go to the abbreviations page to see what everyone was talking about.
I am not only nightlife impaired, I am "forum impaired" also. So this is the only one I can manage.
Thank Jenn for her insight. Would you please ask her (she is about the same age as DS and DFDIL) Are the busier nights more fun or are they just more crowded?

DD26 says that it is never really crowded anymore... so she thinks it is more fun on Mon/Thurs. She thinks that PI made a big mistake when they opened admission onto the island, and discontinued the nightly NYE celebration and fireworks. It seems that a lot of the local traffic has moved to Universal Studios area... and PI is losing critical mass of being fun.
She also just added that it is a lot of fun to walk over to Raglan Road... for the Irish dancing. She said that is her favorite thing to do there now.

A couple of years ago we went to PI and checked out a couple of different clubs. Our groups age ranged from 28 to 40 something, by and large our favourite was 8 Trax. As Jen/Jim mentioned the other places are a bit of a meat market. But 8 Trax was a blast, with some simple fun! We went on a Tuesday night and it was steady but not packed by any means. BTW 8 trax wasn't just disco, it was also 80's and 90's - r n b, old skool, and top 40!

Our oldest really likes Jelly Rolls over at the Boardwalk Area.

:iagree: We have had so much fun there. One night DW wasn't feeling well, so I went over with both DD's... and we stayed till closing! What a fun night!!!
Do you know if the noise spills over into any of the BW view units?

I have to second Jellyrolls! We had a blast and there were a lot of "younger" people there too when we went for the MO meet last December. We stayed right near there in a studio and didn't hear any noise from the club itself.....it was the people leaving after closing that were the loudest. But that only happened one night while we were in the room.....and one night we might have been the cause :innocent:
Do they still allow smoking there?
If so, ugh.

Yes, unfortunately they do. It's not a Disney business, so they have their own rules. JellyRolls is the only place to allow smoking indoors....and that's reason alone for me to stay away.
I've stayed in BW view studios and once was just 2 doors away from JellyRolls. I heard no noise at all from the club, but if the drunks leaving want to be loud & obnoxious at 1 or 2am, you might hear them. They woke me up one night (I was on the fifth floor, too) but that was once out of 15 nights over 3 different years.
At PI, the club with the shark in the logo closed in February. That was Rock & Role Beach Club. Now you have BET, Mannequins, 8Trax and Motion to pick from. They also sell a single club ticket that's good for any of those clubs for about $10. If you want Comedy Warehouse or Adv Club though, those still require the $22 ticket.

Put me down for Jellyrolls too. It's a blast.
Is there anything over at Universal Studios Citywalk? That's a quick cab ride away.

What type of music do they play at Jellyrolls? When leaving (if you close down the club), is it difficult to get a bus back to your original resort (in our case OKW)?

It's all requests at Jellyrolls. There are 2 piano players on the stage at the front of the room. The patrons write their requests on a napkin, make sure to add a good tip if you want to hear your song, and they play the requested songs in sing-a-long style.
As the night goes on it gets going in there, and it is fun. The crowd starts to interact with the piano players and with each other. :clappingh
No buses back to your resort if you stay until closing. We always grab a cab at the front of Boardwalk.

I wish the Hard Rock Cafe Orlando was at DTD instead of Planet Hollywood.
We may have to venture to Universal Street thingy to add to our HRC t-shirt collection, but we haven' done it yet!

Patsy,
I would prefer it if we had Margaritaville instead.

I was hoping for a Target, not another Super Wal*Mart.
