I've been out of the loop. Has there been any new info lately (like last couple weeks)?

I saw AKV was offering 100 point contracts to new members!

And did SSR sell out yet?

And what is this sandwich towers? Is this a rumor that they're gonna build on the opposite side of the Contemporary, too?

Thanks!

Hi, Shan -

I think SSR is supposed to sell out in a few days - no hard news on when that's happened; but it's possible Deep Croaker will alert Tony or some intrepid web-surfer will catch the news and post it here.

The 100 point contract for AKV may just be at the Chicago sale center. I think there were questions about whether that was universal, or just a local incentive/offer. Has anyone else figured that out?

As to BLT towers, no new rumors or news on knocking down the South Garden Wing and building a new unit there, but there is speculation about what phases BLT might sell in and what the rumored "Phase 3" is.

Anyone else have harder information?

Dirk

Yes on the 100 pt contracts, No on SSR sellout (but coming soon).

CTR became KT (Kingdom Towers)... but some people felt that it had too strong a tie to Kingdom Hall/Watchtower... so the name changes to Bay Lake Tower... which sounds like a sandwich so it is being called the ST... and the Contempory Resort is now called the "toaster".

I hadn't heard about phase 3... What is this all about Dirk?

Thanks!

I got a little info last week. while waiting for a table @ The Concourse Steak House I went over to the DVC stand and asked what they were building next door. He said that they don't tell them much, so I asked if it was DVC. He said he didn't know for sure, but that the units had kitchens in the plans. So that would lead him to believe that it will be DVC.

Thank you for tying that together for me. I'd always had some vague uneasiness with Kingdom Tower, and I knew it was connected to Kingdom Hall. But I kept thinking to myself "why is this bugging me when Magic Kingdom* and Animal Kingdom* don't bother me?" But you've answered the question; I was clearly subconsciously recalling Watchtower as well, so the combination Kingdom Tower was worse than simply the use of the word Kingdom alone.

Don't know what was the matter with CRV, although I guess that's a Honda, so maybe VCR (oops - typed that and figured out the problem). So there's nothing good.

I work in a denomination that tries very hard to remove masculine imagery wherever possible, at least when it's not in reference to the Trinity, so I understand. Sometimes I trip up, but usually I do a pretty good job.

I always grit my teeth whenever I hear something at Disney refer to "mankind." I think it's even in the newer attractions, like Mission:Space. Is it that hard to say "humankind" or "humanity?"

That said, I'm not sure I'm all the keen on visiting the Animal Realm or the Magic Realm. :) Then again, as we all know, Mickey is a benign dictatorship, and in the animal world, hierarchy rules (or at least those with the biggest bodies and sharpest teeth).

Yeah, I'm totally off-topic. To tie it back in. Kingdom Tower was bad. BLT is just strange.

Who cares what they name it or what the acronym is. As long as I can get a studio there sometime.

To continue off-topic.........

They could go the matriarcial route, then it would be a Queendom, but according to a CM we ran into while walking around SSR, all queens are bad! Only princesses are good. So if that's the case then why do they sell nightgowns that say "Queen of the Kingdom" at the SSR store. :innocent:Yes I bought one!:dancingba

Now if Minnie would rule the world then maybe we'd see more of Daisy Duck! Then again, maybe we aren't ready for a female leader (no this is not a political comment) in the Disney realm. It's definitely a patriarcial organization for the long haul.:worship:

So maybe we need to move more gender neutral. Magic Peopledom, Animal Animaldom. :jawdroppi Thank goodness the characters are not anatomically correct:bigear:

Regarding the mouse dictatorship, much of the media here in Orange County (CA not FL) refer to "the mouse" as the evil dictator of all things Anaheim. :computerg

Just random thoughts.......:Pssst:

Hi, Guys --

I'm going to close this thread, since, from the time that Shan first asked this question, Tony has provided much more (i.e., updated) information in THIS THREAD (http://www.mouseowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15630).

Just trying to avoid having duplicate threads running at the same time. :)
