I am an animal lover and I love looking at the pics of everyone's doggies, but currently we don't have one. :( So I thought I start a thread for the kitties since we have one of those! :)

This is Chase (who sometimes thinks he is a dog and always thinks he is a person!)

http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j274/dne42503/100_2787.jpg

He doesn't go outside at all so when get gets some "friends" from outside, he likes to hang out to look out the window. They sat here like this for a good 1/2 hour. It was very strange, but pretty cute! :bunny:

Admins - If we don't need two pet threads, I am sorry and please feel free to merge it with the other one!

These are my demon spawn of Satan, otherwise known as Siamese.

Alex is the Lilac Point applehead (5 y.o) , Sophie is the seal point applehead (8 y.o and Alex's half-sister), and Zoe is the blue point CFA (2 y.o and recent invader).

I have a demon spawned too. His name is Pele, and he is about 12 years old I suppose. Either his mother or father was Siamese, I can't remember the story now, but he does that "talking" thing all day, all night. He also hates every fiber of me, and when he gets annoyed with one of the dogs he'll "steal" one of their beds and dares them to move him. (enclosed pic of that scene) He has been around longer than Mr. Roz, and rules the roost with a iron claw. Of course, he is daddy's sweet baby that can do no harm....:hypnotict

Well, of course! You named him Pele for goodness' sake. :) He does have that Siamese annoyed look . . .

Our Siamese are vocal, but they are also incredibly affectionate and definitely have their favorites between Jim and I. Jealousy is a powerful trait, too, though, and we are in huge trouble if we have the scent of another animal on us. If Siamese had opposable thumbs, we would have been dead long ago . . .

Your baby demon spawns :goodnevilare so cute!

Our cat is very vocal too. He "talks" more than any other cat I have ever had, plus he likes to lick . I have no idea why. It's not like we are made of tuna, he is the only cat I have had that licks. We'll be just sitting on the couch watching tv with him laying between us and suddenly you get the sandpaper treatment on your arm. We can't let him in the bedroom at night because you'll get awakened to him licking your forehead! He's a freak, but still my baby. :)

LOL on Pele. Scott swears it's what originally turned him against me. Believe it or not, I originally named him after Pele the Brazilian "Football" Star. When he was a kitten he'd scoot a golf ball around for hours. Little did I know the real "Pele".

He is a very affectionate cat with Scott. It's amazing. They are like peas and carrots. Funny thing is, he doesn't want anything to do with me during the day, but at night he sleeps on my shoulder. Personally I think he started doing this because he knew how I felt about "personal space" when I slept. Funny thing is, after all these years, I have to admit I have trouble sleeping when we are away from home without him laying on my shoulder. I know I know, there might be a cat person inside me after all . :D

BTW, Dirk, so agree with you about the thumb thing.

This is our Sammy. We got her from the animal shelter and she is such a great cat! DH said I picked the "ugliest" cat in the place, but I think she is beautiful...plus she reminds me of my favorite holiday :Pumpkin: She sometimes thinks she's a dog and fetches things. But she is really a sweetheart and knows when someone in the family needs a little extra TLC.

And this is our mush Max. He's a 17 pounder but very very loveable. He was born in our garage several years ago. My parents now have his mother who is one of those really tiny petite cats. It's really hard to picture him coming from her LOL He's also the biggest chicken in the house :innocent:

We are really lucky with them. Both are really mushy and get along with the kids great....ok they know how to hide well ;) I have had cat's with attitude before...the original Stimpy was actually frightening to some people :lmbo: He would attack people for no reason and hated my DH! I was the only human allowed in his presence.

This is our brood of six:

Patch (15, the oldest and the only female)
http://www.mouseowners.com/kitties/Patch.JPG

Amos (10, a very big boy and a big scaredy cat)
http://www.mouseowners.com/kitties/Amos.JPG

Levi (9, the most clingy of the kitties; he's a complainer)
http://www.mouseowners.com/kitties/Levi.JPG

Greebo (4; when we got him, he was a wild guy and we actually had to bring in a kitty shrink; now, he's pretty calm)
http://www.mouseowners.com/kitties/Greebo.JPG

Boo (just turned 1; probably the biggest love muffin of all the kitties)
http://www.mouseowners.com/kitties/Boo.JPG

Maui (also just turned 1; he is very puffy. He had some hygiene problems initially [he didn't like to lick his butt after pooping -- can't say I blame him, but it was GROSS], but is over that problem now)
http://www.mouseowners.com/kitties/Maui.JPG

With the exception of Maui and Boo, the rest were pound kitties that we saved. Last year, we decided that since we weren't having children, we'd splurge and buy some pedigreed kitties for our anniversary. That's how we wound up with Maui and Boo, who are Scottish Folds.

I love seeing the pictures of everyone's kitties! They are so darned cute!! :)

6 kitties and they are all so cute!

I finally just talked DH into getting another cat. Someone at work has a friend who save 4 kittens that had been left in a drain (storm drain I think). Anyway they were about 3-4 weeks old. They hand fed them and now they are looking for homes for them. He finally agreed today! :cheerlead So we're gonna get one next week. :kitty: There are two white ones with a black mark on their head, the other two are black/grey/brown tiger stripes. Chase is good natured and lovey, I hope they get along!

Here are a few pictures of our sweet Pebbles. She passed away 3 years ago. Haley & Pebbles were the best of friends. Pebbles always had to snuggle in with Haley..

Sorry to hear about Pebbles. I'm kinda getting worried about that with Patch, not that she's 15 and has some thyroid issues (she's on meds, but still). We lost Spot (grey tabby) back in 2005, and it was very hard.

Still, I can't imagine life without them!

This is exactly how we got Greebo (the one who had to get seen by the shrink). My mom's coworker's daughter had saved two kitties from a storm drain. One of them was Greebo (who at the time was named Bill). We got him when he was six weeks old. The vet speculated that the reason he initially was so aggressive was that he never had a mother cat to whack the stuffing out of him when he misbehaved. With the help of the medication, we played the role of mom/socializing agent.

I talked to the lady who has them and she said they really enjoy being with people and are always sitting on her. The one that started eating solid food first had an attitude because she didn't want to share with the others when they started eating solid food. She says the kitten is better and shares now without problems. I am hoping to go see them this weekend and pick mine out. She had to go out of town though and has a friend taking care of them, so I am waiting. :hyper:

That sounds great! Make sure you take some pictures and post them after you've chosen your kitty!

We'll we ended up not getting the kitten. After a bunch of phone calls, it just didn't work out for me. :tearsaref Oh well, I can alway check into adopting one. So for now, Chase remains an only child.

Here he is just watching some TV in the family room.

What about Simba? He's such a grump, he won't sit still for his picture. I'll keep trying, though.

djgrab and simba's mom -- what cuties!

Does anyone here like lolcats (http://www.icanhascheezburger.com)? I look there every day and love it. They're not kitty-exclusive, but they're pretty kitty-centric. And their lolcats Bible is a hoot, too!
