The official DVC nnouncement is located HERE (http://dvc.disney.go.com/dvc/guest/about/pressRelease?id=HawaiianResortPressReleaseDetailsP age).
It says:
The expansive resort, scheduled to open in 2011, is planned to have more than 800 units, including hotel rooms and Disney Vacation Club villas.*

Assuming construction has not begun (I haven't heard anything), this project is in the "Eagle Pines" stage. Meaning that anything can still happen, including nothing.
When/if construction does begin, we'll all have to chip in to send Denise over there so she can take photos!

Construction has not begun, plans have not been submitted and details are very lacking. Disney was suppose to release more details in the spring. :idontgeti Of course, I thought they meant spring 2008.

Yes you can, though I suspect each person must be either all points or all cash.
You can also pay entirely by cash ;) . Many people feel is the best option, unless you have points that would otherwise be wasted.

My username is NOT to be taken seriously! But the things you want to do can be accessed through the "User CP" link (user control panel).
For further reasons not to use points for a cruise, see this (http://www.mouseowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15393) thread.
