I was on the Jungle Cruise last weekend after it re-opened from the rehab and I noticed that the Witch Doctor at the end of the ride with the shrunken heads is gone. Why would Disney remove him? Did they think the shrunken heads was to un-Disney like? Does anyone else know or have an idea on why they took him out of the ride? Enquirey minds want to know!

Hmmm. Maybe he didn't come out ahead in the refurbishment after all?
Sorry. Couldn't resist!
Other boards are reporting him there in all his refurbished gory. Maybe he just had temporary issues when you there?

I was there the first day after the ride re-opened so maybe the rest of the ride was a-head of schedule! I will have to head back this summer to see!

Are you referring to DW or DL? I was at DW at the beginning of the month and did not notice any rehab going on.
I will say that while this used to be one of my favorite rides I'm not sure I'll be doing it again. It has as long of a wait as the mountains and the best part is long gone: ie the jokes.

Can't say I'll miss the witch doctor. DS4, who gleefully rides splash and big thunder and Kali river, was enjoying the JC until the end with the shrunken heads. Absolutely freaked him out. Haven't been able to get him interested in going back on the ride.

The rehab was at DW and the ride re-opened on May 25.

Does anyone remember in the late 70s or early 80s when they dyed the Jungle Cruise water BLUE? It was bright, kind of teal, really fake looking in a fun way. It didn't stay that way, not sure why.
Ah, the good old days of fake blue water, River Country and Swan Boats...
