Man I HATE to be all grownuply here, as it is SO not like me to act like an adult. but I am not comfortable with posting abbreviations that aren't familiar to everyone. If it's inappropriate to say what something stands for perhaps it is inappropriate to post it? :tapedshut
Please don't throw things at me, I just want to be sure everyone here feels included and there is no sense of "exclusivity" (is that even a word?). :grouphug:

I have posted it in another thread. Search the We Need A Logo thread.

The last "B" was an add-on solely for the purpose of the Magical Gathering. It stands for "Bunch"

The reason I have a problem with putting in acronyms that no one else understands (without having to search through old threads) is, that those who are newer to the boards, or not in on the joke can perceive it as clique-ish. I hope we all agree we'd like to avoid that feeling here.
I feel this way about all posts, but particularly when there is an invitation to join a gathering. If I wasn't "in" on a particular reference I might feel like I wasn't truly welcome.
Rarely do I try to censor anyone here, in fact I think this is the first time I have posted anything like this, but I do think we have to be careful to include everyone and not have "in" jokes if we want to be seen as truly welcoming to all. :grouphug:

All you or anyone had to do was ask. There is nothing dirty or secretive about KMBBB. Actually....are you sure you don't know what it means ?
Anyway, to all who care to know: KISS MY BANNED BUTT BUNCH

Going to be a GRAND time for one and all!
"International Dinner and IllumiNations Dessert Reception" -- There's no need to jet around the globe to experience dining around the world. At Epcot, international culinary favorites are on the menu for adventurous groups looking for a storybook ending to their day. Children can join in the dinner's special storytelling experience, which is punctuated with a surprise character appearance. A special viewing area is reserved for the evening finale, the nighttime Epcot spectacular "IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth."

I am SO looking forward to this! How exciting is this!!!! I'll admit I didn't have a clue what the initials stood for, but then I really didn't care. Everyone here is so nice that I never really feel left out. But, Mar, I do see your point and agree with you. Cuz that is what happens on other sites, kinda like the high school clicks. That being said, I KNOW that those initials were just put there as a joke, cuz we all do know that you guys are one CRAZY group. It's so nice to be part of this family!!!!!

- my usual appearance fee of $1500, paid in advance (no personal checks, please).
- bikini clad personal hostess.
- no cops.
- I will be addressed only as "Your Excellency".
- do not approach the horse - this is not a petting zoo.

Hi RASH...
The retainer is in the mail!!!!
It's a little worn out, but my kid hasn't used it in so long that her teeth have gone back to 'before' braces.
Glad to help out a friend! I called the Disney Kennel to see if there was room for a....
very large animal who disdained KibblenBits but needed a 'bottomless' water dish. Told them you were on a 'special' diet and they promised they would comply with Doctor Greenban's prescription diet. So Yeungling's on tap it is!
So glad our GG is over in Epcot....not sure Disney allows horses on the GG Wishes Cruise!

Found out a few details this am on the International Dinner- :)
Countries represented are- Asia, Italy, Germany and Morocco. Each will have a buffet, that is quite extensive, of many different foods from each country-
Character appearances with storytelling and music-
After dinner we are led to a special viewing area for Illuminations at one of two locations available only to the Grand Gathering participants- The dessert reception is held outside but would be moved inside incase if bad weather-
Recognition of any special events or occasions- :)
They have in the past presented each Grand Gatherer with a special pin that commemorates the event-
So if you are in the World on May 1st....send me a pm and join the party! Would love to meet you! :)

Good call. My local grocery store has Hostess stuff on sale 2 for $5. I'll pick up some Twinkies and Cupcakes. And as for Rash not being a petting zoo. That's totally understood. Afterall, isn't that why they just had another kid?

Aww Niki, so near and yet so far! Hopefully next time. You're not going to be there the first week of October this year by any chance are you? Jigger, CB, MatysG and I are all going to be there then too.
By the way the Boardwalk Babes welcome all new members, there is no prerequisite other than having to drink at least one roller coaster meltdown from the poolbar at BWV. OR one or more Margarita's on Jigger's balcony. Home resort doesn't matter, Boardwalk Babes are an equal opportunity bunch of lunatics. :woohoo:  :howudoin: :woohoodan  :crackedup

04-01-2006, 04:05 PM
Hi S-Beach,
Wish you could join us! I'm not the expert on Grand Gatherings...jiggerj has all that information and anyone can put one together if they can get a group of I think 9 or 10.
Insofar as May 1 or more precisely that first week in May. I think it all started with Mar (I'd ratherbeinwdw) booking that week as her getaway week. THen last year I booked BWV for my family around Mother's Day and really liked that there weren't any crowds and the weather was perfect. So when I was looking to repeat that week, Mar said: well why not come down the first week instead. So I did. Then, I was telling Pam (matysgramma) that I was doing this solo and she said: well I would be happy to join you! Then, jiggerj posted that her family was going the first week of May and that she'd love to get together one night just with 'the girls' (who have now become the famous and perfect Boardwalk Babes)...and then she got to thinking about how we'd have enough to make up a Grand Gathering....and well, that's how it all started.
Then we found out that we all were interested in going to the food and wine festival and Mar was booked for the first week of October and so was Jiggerj....and so I jumped in and Pam said whattheheck and jumped on board too. (She has a really understanding DH!). So now we are planning something for that week too....I think maybe the Halloween Party for starters.
And its all because of this board, because until last December, neighter jiggerj nor Pam nor I had even met!!! We'll be meeting Mar for the first time this trip...but it just feels like we all know each other already.
So that's the long of it. Viking and his Mrs and Doon and Simba's Mom (and I think their SO's) jumped on board when we invited them as they had posted on the calendar that they'd be there the same time. And we thought it would be GRAND if anyone who was in the vicinity or who could be in the vicinity join in.
Next May? Well, we seem to be the kind of people who can be talked into most anything! I'm not one who plans so far in advance, but the rest of the crew really do like to get the ball rolling fast, so hey gang, what do you say?
Now the other thing is Mousefest....I signed onto that one late (about two weeks before.) It is a group of Disney Geeks like Passporters, Tagrel's site, mousesavers, allears....and they plan little minniemeets hosted by just regular people but also some authors of books /Disney guides. Last year it was the first week of December. When Mar suggested that we plan a mouseowners meet some time in the future, I suggested that we hook into the already developed MOusefest groups....and now Mar has a post going for December, 2007 which seems like a long way away...but for those advance planner types I guess it is just around the cormer. The idea will be for as many mouseowners.com people to attend (no cost for this..just show up) the events planned by the other groups, but then also have events for our group (which I think of course should be open to everyone, just as theirs is). If you go to Tag's site you can see lots of pics of last year's events and get an idea of what to expect....I went alone and had a blast, tho I kept missing things (disorganized am I).
Well, I bet you didn't expect a book on your question! But the short version is: The first week of May,2007 sounds like a good time to plan a trip! Or maybe you can come the first week of October?
Colorado Belle
04-01-2006, 04:09 PM
Hi Tammy...drat that we are going to miss you by just a couple of weeks!
Do you have any time available that first week in October? Or have you been looking at the Mousefest, 2007 dates? It is so hard to coordinate schedules...I know that when it was DH, DD and me that we never could do anything when other people were traveling. One good thing about the solo life!!!!!

Hey Colorado,
I am a school teacher so taking off during the school year or early December is very difficult for me. I do have a fall break but it is mid-October. But I can live vicariously through the mouse adventures of the rest of you guys.

Would this be a possibility?

You shouldn't feel uncomfortable because you don't know us, you should consider yourself lucky.
As far as joining in on the fun..... well, try and get your post count up first. We set bar minimum at 300 posts. Now, you can either read all the posts and add insightfull, usefull knowledge posts, but that may take awhile. A much easier and faster way would be to go to the "Welcome" board and say "Welcome" to the most recent 236 members.
BTW. "John V" ..... you're not a Pope,are ya ?
I've been accused of a lot of things (most of which have been deserved) but I'd never been accused of being a pope!?! It's a V as in between U and W; not as in 5th!! Give me two margaritas and you'll wonder why that thought even crossed your mind....thanks for the note by the way

John I hope you know viking is kidding--there's no requirement at all. While a few of the folks at the gathering have met, I will be meeting everyone for the first time this trip. It just so happened a bunch of us were going at the same time and one thing lead to another.
I don't want to assume it's Ok to invite you for Margaritas, because it isn't my villa. JiggerJ will see this soon and reply I am sure. While I don't know you well I have seen many of your posts on the "other" board as well as the ones here, so you're certainly no stranger.

Hi jdvm! When you find out where and when the Margaritas are being served, let me know. I'm going to the GG at Epcot, but I'm meeting people for the first time. Should I just go to Boardwalk sometime that afternoon and look for a bunch of rowdy strangers with margaritas and a laptop?

Sorry I missed last night's chat, guys. I was making several phone calls last night when I got home from work and the time got away from me. I adopted a new kitty this week, and was making the round of calls, telling some family & freinds about the new addition.

I am soooo jealous. Can't we do this the last week in August 2006 or President's week 2007? If all you need is a group of 8-10 people for the special dinner, I'd be happy to coordinate a group for one of the times I'll be at WDW.
I'd love to host something at our room in August, but I don't think many of us will fit in a Pop Century room...(can you say free dining!)

To be different, perhaps we could do one of the other packages? Any takers for August 27-Sept 4 or Presidents week 2007? (I think these prices may have chagned)
"Magical Fireworks Voyage" -- After bidding farewell to Captain Hook and Mr. Smee on shore, your group will sail with Patch the pirate along Seven Seas Lagoon by Magic Kingdom. This memorable evening includes ideal "seaward" viewing of the "Electrical Water Pageant" and the spectacular new "Wishes" fireworks extravaganza over Cinderella Castle. The voyage features group trivia and song activities and a celebration for special occasions like birthdays, reunions or anniversaries. The irrepressible Patch regales you with tales of Peter Pan on the trip back to shore. Speaking of Peter Pan, he awaits your return to pose for photos and sign autographs. Ages 10 and older, $29.99; ages 3-9, $14.99.
"Safari Celebration Dinner" -- You'll gather in the exotic African coastal city of Harambe at Disney's Animal Kingdom for high adventure on Kilimanjaro Safaris. Your group will journey through the park's authentic jungles and across the sweeping, baobab-studded savannah as you spot giraffes, elephants and other wild African creatures. The experience continues at Harambe's Tusker House Restaurant for an African-inspired dinner, Disney character appearances, "up-close" animal experiences and live entertainment. Ages 10 and older, $59.99; ages 3-9, $19.99.
A special viewing area is reserved for the evening finale, the nighttime Epcot spectacular "IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth." Ages 10 and older, $59.99; ages 3-9, $19.99.
"Good Morning Gatherings" -- Breakfast with famous Disney characters enters a whole new dimension with this new group gathering served up with plenty of morning merriment at Tony's Town Square Restaurant in Magic Kingdom. Your group will not only meet favorite characters but will participate in song-and-dance numbers. Mickey Mouse makes a one-on-one appearance with each guest for photo sessions. Ages 10 and older, $24.99; ages 3-9, $11.99.

I think you are sweet to offer to 'host', especially in a POP room:dunce:
I'm in a Pop room too in Sept, and it will sure be different than a BW villa!
You might have to host a POOL party instead! (I wonder if there are grills by the value resort pools like there are at DVC? Anyone know?
Have you entered the dates that you'll be at WDW on the calendar yet? I suggest that you do that so you can see who else will be there at your time. THe calendar was how we all found each other for the May GG, so it might work for you too!
Also, start a new thread on this forum...maybe "Who will be in WDW in August". That should catch the eyes of those traveling during that month and I bet your GG will take off from there! :cheerlead

Hi all. I was invited by Colorado Belle :howudoin: to visit these boards. I didn't realize that I would recognize most of you! Anyway, we may also be interested in the May Day celebration. How many more people can you fit?
We are traveling with another couple so there would be 4 of us, and I will have to check with them if they are up for this amount of fun. We are checking into BWV (first stay there, can't wait) on Sun April 30th. Sounds interesting, how is the food at these events? People usually pretty happy with it? I don't know where your star is Viking, but since I am looking for my
AP and DV C member card and other important stuff on my packing list....
I'll let ya know if it shows up here.
I leave early Wednesday and have Bunko Tuesday night, so I am going to get my stuff ready tonight. I can throw it all in the suitcase after Bunko, but I have to get it sorted before I drink . (Last time I packed after margaritas, I ended up with a whole slew of left footed shoes without any matching right.:holymoly:
I was sorting through my collection of pins...anyone else collect pins? I got started when I was going through ROFR, and I was going kinda nuts, so I'd hit ebay for pins. Sigh. Anyway, I have a nice little collection.
Not sure where /what my friend from Tampa and I should do Friday and Saturday before checking into BWV on Sunday....we have so much planned all week, that I'm about out of ideas for the weekend. I think Tonga Toast is in order, and maybe a Cobb Salad at the BD. I think I will call for ressies tomorrow and see what is up. I'm sure we will HAVE TO DO EE first thing Saturday morning at AK, then again with a FP. She hasn't seen Soaring yet, so that is something else.
Maybe visit with Gary Puckett and the boys for their Friday evening show if we get over from Tampa in time.
Any suggestions?

Wait a skinny minute here....
I have only been banned ONCE.
I am not nearly the trouble maker that Vikiking is.
And I have no horns, but instead angelic wings!
Tis true that we can get a buzz on easier at high altitude....but I recently tried to do a drink around the world, and only made 3 countries before I buzzed out.
Over on the nothing thread, they decided that I needed a 'Crap Pass' because of my soapopery life recently. A crap pass is like a fast pass, but it works all day!!!
They are also talking EMMY, but I haven't gotten my hopes up yet...who knows if they really have any sway with the powers that be.:hypnotict

Have y'all scheduled an EE meet?! Sounds like Pocahantas wants to join in with you! I won't get to try out EE until July, but I love hearing about it :D

Here I am in sunny Tampa, just a few short hours from leaving for the world.
Using my friend's computer to check in. Heard a few of you were off getting in trouble over school games (a ball game?) and school tests (you flunked one ) and so I am glad I was here, having a ball with my friends and drinking way too much wine. (but not driving)
I get to drive to the World. My friend has a convertible so we put the top down and let our hair blow and just have a blast from the past.
Going to go out hunting for a bathing suit this afternoon. Wish me luck~
Only a few days til Boardwalk Babes meet up for some serious fun!

MAGICAL UPDATE!
What a night! :dust:
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a390/jiggerj/mouseownerssign.jpg
CB,Pam and Mar came over to my Villa a little early to get the margaritas blended, limes cut, fresh fruit on trays. CB made this fantastic dip for natchos and some fresh guacamole. CB has a secret ingredient for her margaritas and oh, boy ...let me tell you...this might be the real Disneys best kept secret!
Matysgranma had the most wonderful t-shirts made for the Boardwalk Babes...(((hugs))) Pam! So we slipped them on and off Pam, Mar and myself went to meet all the Mouseowners. CB stayed at my Villa blending away and preparing all the goodies. CB is an excellent cook by the way!
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a390/jiggerj/boardwalkbabespose.jpg
So we get into the BellVue expecting maybe some fella with horns :viking: , but we were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by the most awsome group of Mouseowners!
Simbasmom, Simbasmom dh, Muushka and her dh, jdvm, The Viking and his dw were all together chatting away-
Not sure as who is who, we did a quick introduction around with lots of laughs- Then headed to my Villa - I was not going to complain about the notoriously long Boardwalk hallways as when you opened the door to my Villa, the view just took your breath away- We had rooms 5015/5017.
CB got busy filling everyones glasses and we all headed out to the balcony with jokes of how we will all ever fit out there!
Doombuggy was caught in traffic so she met us at my Villa- I had a MouseOwners sign on the door and she jumped right in to meet everyone
Mar took lots of pics with the view/villa and we all had alot of fun chit-chatting- and checking out the 2 bedroom Villa. Muushkas dh played with my ds with his light saber from his Jedi Training  John and my dh chatted about moving down to Celebration.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a390/jiggerj/gatheringbalcony.jpg
Around 7 pm we thought it would be a good time to head over to the Odyssey for the International Dinner-
On our way over our group decided to stop and see if Mar was over at the OK show- you guessed it! We found her! So we all snuck up behind her to surprise her-
Good thing we had THE Viking with us as I had the wrong building for the dinner!! So I guess that Vikings really can navigate :)
We all finally made it to the Odyssey and were seated- Personally I wasn't crazy for the food but the company more than made up for it .http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a390/jiggerj/ggmenufront.jpghttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a390/jiggerj/ggmenuopen.jpg The DJ played some fun tunes but I couldnt get my dd up to dance so matysgranma and I got up and rocked out on the dance floor!
After dinner we were led over to our viewing area for the dessert reception- YUM!!! The view for Illuminations was wonderful- right next to gateway gifts.
It was really a great experience not just the dinner event but to meet a fantastic group of Mouseowners- Everyone super friendly and outgoing- We definately were a happy group- We all parted at the end of the evening with hugs and handshakes- It really was a magical evening that has made a magical memory-
Looking forward to hearing from all the Mouseowners that attended to add their thoughts too!
CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!!!!!!!!!! :grouphug:

I am not sure if everyone wants to be identified in cyberspace, so I won't speak for anyone else. But I don't mind telling you I am second from the right in the BW Babes shot and standing all the way on the right in the group shot.

Too funny - I 'know' CB, Mar, and JiggerJ from photos, so figured out Pam right away. I am currently looking for horns in those photos to identify a Viking - I think that I have Simba's Mom and Dad figured out - this is like a logic puzzle.
What a great view - glad that the location of your villa was perfect for the gathering! I hope that you all had magical vacations and look forward to attending a GG in future!

Hi, we're back now too! It was such a great time last Monday-we've got to do a GG again, what a wonderful time. In the group shot, I'm the very first one, with my BCV white shirt. As so often happens, DH isn't standing next to me, but at least there's just one person between us. Wait til I show him the picture of the Boardwalk Babes-he fancies himself quite an amatuer photographer, yet he did a good job with the BBs (but then, he had quite a photogenic group to work with).
For anyone wondering about the Illuminations GG, the view of Illuminations was the best we've ever had. And we've done the Illuminations cruise, the AP preferred viewing area by R&C, many places. The food was OK-I loved the German spaetzle with the gravy. I just wish I'd brought a big ziploc bag for all the yummy left over desserts!

I thought that was you, Simba's Mom, but your DH was trying to confuse the matter by not standing next to you! I swear we've met before - you look very familiar. (Of course, it could just be all those trips we take to WDW, who knows??)

HOW FUN to relive Monday night by coming here and seeing all the photos and comments!
I absolutely loved every minute of our first GG!!!!!
I agree that the dinner food wasn't the best....but the company did indeed make up for it (as did the desserts! and view of Illuminations.)
And Laura is sooooo right...the view from her balcony was amazing...it was PERFECT! And the balcony itself was HUGE! My vote is: lets have another, on the very same balcony, and instead of going to dinner, just eat appetizers and drink margaritas until it is time to head for our dessert and Illuminations.
Thanks to Laura and Dave for 'lending' us the use of their lovely Boardwalk Villa.
It was such a pleasure to finally meet everyone.
I love seeing all the photos and promise to get mine downloaded or uploaded soon. (I'm getting Laura to help me!).
Thanks John, for replenishing the supply of tecquila....I can tell we have many more Margaritas to go and now we have the 'ways and means' to do it.
Sorry all, about that webcam that never showed. But hey...I have video!!!!!
Sorry but the Secret is Out about the Viking....I have the photo to prove it too. (Stay tuned for details )
I LOVELOVELOVE my grand gatherings button, Laura...thank you for making them.
I LOVELOVELOVE my Boardwalk Babes tee-shirt, Pam...thank you for making them.
And now it is time to go back to the real world with fond memories and new best friends!
Colorado Belle and Jiggerj,
Now that you're back, let me say thanks again for a fantastic evening. You were great organizers and hosts. The margaritas were superb.....grand marnier floater.....now that's serious!! Thanks for letting me join you and making me feel so welcome. And thanks to all of the other Mouseowners at your gathering....what a great group of really nice people.
I'm on a bit of a mission to convince other folks not to be shy and join in the postings and venture out to meet other Mouseowners. You all are great...thanks again!

Love this photo of the "official " first meeting at Luna Park pool. We have not all met together and I have never met mar before so this was really special- I was there early (anxious!:)) and was at the end of the Leaping Horse Libations pool bar- I recognized Mar right away and ran around when she got there- Lots of hugs!!! CB and Pam werent too far behind- More hugs all around!! We were able to have a nice toast together and the bartender must have thought we were all nuts! LOL !
