I am going to stay for 14 days. When I went on the parks website, I noticed that there is only a max of 10 days. Does anyone know what happens past 10 days?
Thanks!

Yes... it becomes cheaper to get an annual pass. :)
We vacation at WDW at least once/year... but we only buy our APs every other year. It becomes much cheaper!!!
As DVC members... you also get $100 off an AP... or $125 off a PAP.

I assume that you go into the parks every other year then. By the way, I recently bought my first annual pass realizing that I could use it on 2 separate vacations in 12 mos. Someone hear mentioned the dde card right before I bought the annual passes. It was fabulous. I've already saved way more than the price of the card on the first trip. Mary

We are another Buy the PAPs every other year.
We will get them this trip ( I have my Voucher already for the passholders sight) late June/early July 12 days. Then we will get a smaller trip in the fall/ winter . Then next year we will go early June for another 11 to 12 days.
That year if we go down in the fall/Winter we will hit US/IOA for the short trip.Or we may hit Vero and a short cruise.
This works out well for us and we also get the DDE card for the savings on food as well.

If you are going to be at WDW that long you must get an annual pass. The discounts are a great perk as well. You don't mention if you are a DVC member, but if not, or if you are booking any nights on cash, the room discount alone will probably pay for the pass in savings. There are also discounts on meals, golf, and if your family enjoys mini-golf you can get in at half price. It is definately worth it! Have a great trip!
Don't forget the water park passes that are included in your 10-day park hopper.
Last time I looked you received 6 days in the water parks. Thus your 10-day pass is good for 16 days of fun.
We buy the 10-day passes for our typical 5-day trips and get 3 trips out of them by simply not going to a theme park on the days we go to a water park.

Where do you buy annual passes? Can you purchase them when you get down to WDW or is it better to have them before? Also, I have heard about DDE cards, what exactly are they and where can they be purchased? Thanks for the help.:cheerlead

You can purchase AP's at DTD or any other guest service location. Each park has one outside where you can buy your AP. You can purchase your DDE at DTD guest relations or if you pre-purchase your AP, you can buy the DDE online and have it mailed to you home.

Buy annual passes and then get the DDE card for 20% of table service dining, including alcoholic beverages.

Mary,
No... we go every year. You stated... the key is to staggar your annual vacations so that you only have to buy the passes every other year.
For example... lets assume that you like to go every sumer because the kids are out of school. You can go the first year in July... and the following year in June... and your APs will be good for both trips. Hence... you only buy the APs every other year.
We generally take longer trips (12 nights typical) annually. This gives us at least 24 park admission days per AP. Plus... DW and I often make occasional other trips, especially when I am working in the area.

We have found that renewing is not a very good idea unless you are going to be using the pass again within a couple of months.
Back in the good days... you could renew at the lower rate (bigger discount than now)... PLUS you didn't have to activate the renewal until your next trip. That was a great deal.

Jim, I was just figuring that out when I read your response. We usually go the same week in Feb. though that is changing as dd is entering college and will no longer have President's week off. I just realized that I am actually going to use my ap 3x as we went the end of April ( our schools had off for Passover instead of Easter this year), and are going in July and next Easter week which is the week before we went this year. Yay me--my family will be using it 3x and DD might go with friends in Jan., so 4x for her. I am a little slow figuring this out sometimes, but I get their eventually. Mary
