We had a great trip, our 1BR at the AKV Concierge (6405) was nice, pool view and plenty of room for all. Concierge can't be beat, drinks almost always available, snack food spread thru the day, if you don't need eggs/bacon and such breakfast could be skipped and some of the snack setups for dinner were plentiful also, but we had ADR's for most of the trip so we only tasted, and everything was good. In the future, Concierge will be our first choice.

Ft Wilderness Segway Tour was a blast, we will be doing it again, a very well run and enjoyable tour. (see segway thread for pic)

We did La Nouba Tuesday night, great performance, well worth going to, now we'd like to see some of the other shows they do.

Sunrise Safari!!!! Outstanding......the ride from AKV to the Safari takes you thru the backlot of AK and some of the cages are a bit Jurassic Park in nature, but it was neat to see how it all works. We spent nearly an hour on the safari, they had to hold up the regular park guests from getting on we took so long out there. Wasn't all us asking questions, we had a White Rhino that decided he was more comfortable in the path of the bus.......took a while before he moved. We were close enough to reach out and touch him, this pic was taken from the bus, NO zoom and no cropping of the pic involved......

We headed off to Vero Beach on Friday and got a great room right out front, nothing blocking our view in either direction. First time at Vero and it was nice, when we finally get moved to FL this will make for a nice weekend retreat I'm sure.

Sunday we jumped onboard the Disney Wonder for 4 days of bliss....and it was. It was our 20yr old sons first cruise and I was a little worried about him being seasick, a little seasick the first day and he was fine after that, so it worked out. We had a great trip, it was a double dip for Castaway Cay, which means 2 days on Serenity Bay for us. We enjoyed em both..... Nassau we spent way to much money on jewelry (for her) and watches (for me). First Rolex I looked at was $77,000 so we found a different glass box to peer into....one with slightly lower price tags. My DW still spent 4 times what I did on a necklace and a pair of earrings, so we maintained the 4:1 spending ratio we've had for the past 22yrs. LOL

With the cruise over we headed home with a stopover at HH on the way, nice little resort, not sure it's somewhere we will visit unless we have a reason to be going there, but we brought home some magazines from the area so maybe we'll find something we'd like to do there. It did break up our return trip nicely though and gave us a chance to see what it was like.

Oh yeah, another almost forgot.....while we were on the cruise we added another 100 points to our SSR collection with our same UY (points back to last year), $10 off/point, $200 on-board credit and a $500 Gift Card. My DW wanted the Blue/White Beach Blanket they were giving away at the members meeting, and she didn't win it, so they were giving away 1 to the first 3 members to add-on, we were the first of those, she nearly tackled the guy getting an appointment set.

Almost forgot....we found this couple at the entrance of DHS on Sunday evening, seems they were a bit worn out.

Thanks, we had a great time, can't wait to do it again. (Except the wife shopping in Nassau part....can't afford to do that again)

Didn't get a pic of our balcony view at AKV, only this one from the Concierge seating area early one morning.

Yeah I wanted to join em, getting back to the room for a nap was the only thought in my head.

I've been waiting for your trip report ever since I saw your plans that were in your signature. It sounded like you were doing a little bit of everything during your two-week vacation.

Sorry I didn't write up more about it Mike, we did so much it's a bit overwhelming to think about it all. We did have a great time though and can't wait to do it again.

Hey... I'm not complaining. I love it when people post pictures of their trip. It let's me live vicariously through their vacation, especially when my next one is so far away.

Didn't you also stop at HHI, or is my memory flawed?

Oh I know ya weren't, just felt bad for such a short post on such a long trip. :teacher:

Yeah, HH is at the bottom of the first post.....right above my "also forgot" portion. ;)

When I first saw your signature, I was envious as it sounded like the ultimate Disney Florida vacation: WDW, VB, DCL and HHI. It's something I'd like to do sometime!

What a great trip!

I agree, I was hoping for a picture of the blanket!

As for the couple sleeping/ going into a coma in the last shot. I'd have waited around, because it looked like the girl was about to slide off the bench!

As requested.....a picture of the blanket....I'm sure alot of folks on here have it. She's wanted one since seeing it at a members thing near the boardwalk our first trip as members......it folds into itself and has pegs so it doesn't blow away in the sand.....

Now I have to figure out how to fold it back up into itself.......there goes an afternoon.........:upsidedow

Hi Mike!

I hope you and DW had fun on the trip! Thanks for the trip report and pics. I loved the blanket photo (yeah, a little jealous...)!

Now, how the heck did you manage to get two weeks off from this place? Remember, I know where ya work.... (For those reading, we work for the same company.)

I get my chance this October, doing two weeks on DCL and SSR. So, I hope you left some fun and sunshine for me!
